I think I’m gatekeeping this little piece of paradise…🏝️

People see what I put out into the world and think I have it easy. That I’m lucky to be where I am and everything’s A-OK. What a thin surface you’ve seen… deeper is the work, the hard seasons, the lonely days, and the quiet rebuilding.

I learned the hard way that you can’t pour from an empty cup, and I spent a long time filling mine properly. And now, as it overflows, giving becomes effortless. Making people happy makes me happy. ✨

But sometimes it involves moments like this. Walking into cold water alone on a beautiful island, swimming in between seaweeds and fish, completely at peace with myself. I am a child again.

A friend asked me if I was sure I was traveling for 2 weeks on my own. I replied “Of course I am. I love my company. I’m actually quite funny!”. 😆

Continue living in your truth and the rest will sort itself out. At some point, I promise, it will be easier for you to not settle for less. 💜

*trigger warning* joke

find somebody who gets attracted by shiny new things as much as you 😂 tried out dancing in high heels with my ♐️ sister @somatic_elmira

explored a bit of my feminine side while trying not to break my ankles. thanks to our amazing teachers @rkatty_heels @2t.project @tuxafierce @taligoncalves

learned choreography, made mistakes, questioned my decisions and laughed at myself. I was pretty bad but who really cares?! I still ended up unlocking another inner child dream I didn’t know I had.

2 months well spent…
on to the next…

friendship like this…

I’ve gone through a lot of cycles in life. Some of them quiet, some of them falling apart and rebuilding, including friendships.

We knew our first trip was a test. An expectation to not expect. A flexible itinerary. We passed… I’m pretty sure!

In this passadiço, we walked. We sat. We cried. We laughed at nothing. We went silent. Eventually, we transformed…

We’re not exactly alike. We have different histories, different ways of moving through the world. But underneath it, we want the same things. To be seen. To be steady for each other. To keep showing up.

That’s the part people don’t post. It’s not always about the pretty stops, but the VULNERABLE ones. The moment someone says the truest of things, and we are ALL IN.

Friendship like this is hard work. Nobody really tells you that. And you have to choose it again and again. I’m very lucky to have my strong women around me.

It’s so rare… and so worth every effort. ✨

✨ Enchanted islands do exist ✨

There’s a wonder to Madeira. A place that makes you think, “Surely, fairies and mermaids live here...” 🧜🏼‍♀️

It reminded me a little of the Philippines, not in the way it looks exactly, but in the way it made me feel. That specific island magic that brings you back to your past life.

🧚🏾 Just as the world was opening back up and the island was still wonderfully quiet. It was the perfect place to recover from the chaos.

A sommer’s day in Køpenhavn 🇩🇰

I was going to challenge myself to how many cardamom buns I could stuff my face but I had to try other stuff too. ☕️🐌

Timely, it was also the week of the famous Jazz Fest and music was in the air. Now I understand why people love this city. I was broke in the first hour, but I made it thru 😂

Flannel, jeans, jazz, haiku, fatboy slim, cinema, roda de samba, puppy love, friends, alentejo, burning cheesecake, and a trip to the hospital… Almost forgot spring happened! 😂

📷 Forgetting and finding years-old disposables is like discovering a treasure trove!!! 💫

Can you guess where some of these were taken??? One photo has me pointing to a sign that says Calle Torrefranca in Cordoba! A trip down memory lane… 💜

Um fim de semana cheio de amor e risos 💕 A weekend celebrating @imsaltylion and @ricardo_saudade_silva. I love you both and @virtuesofsilence,of course!

@conventodaorada, an old convent turned hotel tucked into Monsaraz, Alentejo was beautiful, as expected. Small guestlist, big feelings, and all the tiny details that made it perfect.

I got to spend three days with some of the people dearest to me. My move in 2018 was scary, and they quickly became my Lisbon family. I still can’t believe their kids are almost as tall as me now!?!

✨Of course, Papa was there... Always making sure I had a date, even all these years later. What timing. Watching these two worlds sit at the same table felt like something I didn’t know I needed, until it happened.

Lots of heart, hugs, dance, and puppy love. So grateful I got to witness this one in my new home.

Love doesn’t require checking boxes, most importantly, it’s a feeling...

Hot girl summer, sun damage e tudo… 🧜🏼‍♀️

After being MIA for a bit doing daughterly stuff, my friends apparently made up a thing called #channelkatrina, a.k.a. what would Katrina say. How flattering, funny, and slightly terrifying at the same time.

✨Simply, it’s really: be kind, don’t take things personally, and find the joy in the ridiculous… Like wearing my yellow Madagascar hat everywhere this season cause I think it’s cute.

Wishing everyone an amazing summer! 🍉

Wear that hat! 👒

Never one for perfection. The freckles and sun spots come with the territory. 💜

👫🏻 Waited years for this visit, counted down the months, and somehow it’s already almost done.

I catch myself in small moments realizing how certain dynamics have quietly shifted. But then a photo like this happens and I’m just his youngest again... the little girl stuck in his leg everywhere he went.

My Papa, so gwapo ✨ first time in Europe at 74 and surprising everyone he meets. Good genes, good genes…

Epa, finally. 🏊🏼‍♀️

Earlier this month, I finally decided to face one of my life frustrations… swimming. Like, proper swimming! I woke up, walked to @piscinaalvito_alcantara , and went in with what I already knew. The next times, I added something else. Learning how to swim as an adult, especially while seeing others who are so good at it, can be daunting! 🫣

If it’s not obvious yet, I always loved the water, so this felt a bit overdue. And it’s been great as my little hideaway from life lately haha the place is filled with lovely people! Hopefully, I can get some lessons so I can do open water next. 🤿

E aí, vamos lá?!
