As we move from the shadows into light, winter to spring and gear up for the eclipse, take a moment to look back and give a nod to our former selves and former work. I am so lucky to be able to collaborate with some truly amazing artists and my dear friend @tolgatres.visual is no exception.

Totem: Shadow / Totem: Light (2018)
Part of Minerala — a collaborative project with Tolga Tres exploring the mineral kingdom as origin, archive, and presence. Thank you for this beautiful collaboration — and hopefully bringing our creativity together again soon.

These two site-specific totems were created specifically as quiet landscapes within a busy exhibition space. Built from live plant matter, archived seeds and pods, crystals and rocks from ancient sites, sand, earth, lighting, and collectible resin objects embedding minerals and fragments, they offered moments to settle, gather, gaze, or enter dialogue.

The project also extended into a limited series of hand-finished screen prints centred around the “mother of all kingdoms” — the mineral kingdom.

Even if I forget a thousand times, I will remember a thousand and one—for isn’t that what I’m here to do?
