'I'll Go Where You Go' by Delay 45 is OUT NOW! Featuring Sydney based trumpeter Tom Avgenicos, alongside Roshan Kumarage (piano, synthesizers), Dave Quinn (bass, synthesizers), and Ashley Stoneham (drums, guitar), the quartet distils years of collaboration into a recording defined by deep trust, fearless interplay, and emotional honesty.

Avgenicos writes, "when we play together now, we often feel a kind of out-of-body experience—as though we're audience members witnessing our own performance." That intuitive connection is evident throughout the album, where electronics, looping forms, lyrical improvisation and dynamic contrasts are woven into music that feels both meticulously crafted and completely alive.

Hear it for yourself. Listen now to I'll Go Where You Go, on all streaming platforms. Link in bio.

Happy release day!! Delay 45 'I'll Go Where You Go' ft. @tomavgenicos @roshankumarage96 @yungdavo and Ashley Stoneham, out on @earshiftmusic

Get it in ur ear holes — buy on Bandcamp and listen on streaming services. Designed to be listened to in track order, all the way through.

Was just having another listen to the album this morning, I'm really proud of it. The music covers a lot of territory, moving seamlessly between structured and unstructured forms. Some of the music is precise, produced and lush, and at other times it is bombastic and like throwing paint at a wall. Ultimately it reflects our shared interests and background in a lot of different types of musics.

We'll be touring from next week
Thurs 01 Oct | Canberra, @smithsalternative
Fri 02 Oct | Sydney, @21shepherd_livingroomtheatre
Fri 16 Oct | Brisbane, @bris.international.jazz.fest @jazzmusicinstitute
Fri 30 Oct | Newcastle, @newcastleartgalleryaustralia
Sun 15 Nov | Melbourne, @smallspacemusic

I get asked why we're called Delay 45... Ashley has the answer for you, along with some other insights from the band.

In anticipation of the release of our fourth album, it felt like a nice time to talk about our musical journey so far.

Thanks to @mammad.nikdel for documenting us.

For the past four years I've had the pleasure of co-curating and running @mondaynightconfessions, a weekly concert series at @churchststudios presenting original jazz & improvised music. Sadly, tomorrow night will be my last concert as part of the committee and it's fitting that one of my heroes and mentors @tinkytrumpah will be performing with @carldewhurstmuso and Simon Barker. C'mon down, it'll be next level as usual !!!

I'm extremely proud of the series we've built. Considering we're approaching 4 years, my estimate is we've been able to present nearly 200 (!) concerts and over 300 sets of music featuring artists nationally and internationally. Our inbox is flooded with artists wanting to perform and the concerts are often at max capacity which is amazing for a Monday night.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible generosity and friendship of venue owner @guygross, and also my peers along the way OG founder @benlerns, and OG members @chloekimyj , @lashlan , and now @samgillmusic , @sabineitapia and @ggabriellahill.

I look forward to coming back as an audience member! by @tomavgenicos
