Download ![Matthew McConaughey said „it’s a scientific fact that gratitude reciprocates“ during his acceptance speech at the 86th Academy Awards on March 2, 2014, when he won Best Actor for Dallas Buyers Club.
The Core Message:
• Three Daily Needs: In the speech, he shared three things he needs every day: something to look up to (God), something to look forward to (his family), and someone to chase (his future self 10 years down the road).
• Gratitude Principle: He stated that showing thanks and appreciation creates a cycle where more positivity and opportunities return to you.
• Quote Reference: He quoted the late actor Charles Laughton, saying, „When you got God, you got a friend, and that friend is you.“
„There are three things that I need each day. One, I need something to look up to, another to look forward to, and another is someone to chase.
[…]
You see, every day, and every week, and every month, and every year of my life, my hero is always ten years away. I’m never going to be my hero. I’m not going to obtain that, I know I’m not and that’s fine with me because it keeps me with somebody to keep on chasing.“
~ Matthew McConaughey, Oscars 2014
