A new chapter. Same passion for social, content, brands and telling great stories. Welcome to @tomrobertsoncreative 🙌 After 10+ years working across social media, content and brand marketing, I’m bringing everything together under one roof. I’ve worked in-house, agency-side, led teams, built campaigns, created content and worked with some pretty great brands, athletes and organisations along the way. Congratulations to @whispernickydaicos on winning the 2026 Brownlow Medal🏅 I had the privilege of working alongside Nick during my time at @collingwood_fc, capturing plenty of moments along the way. Shoot at 6:30pm. Photos in people’s hands by 7pm. Full album by 11pm 📸⚡️ Why so quick? Because in this case, @rixxeyewear needed the content ASAP. It wasn’t just about getting photos back to the client. Airdropping images directly to attendees at the event was a huge part of it too. People could have their photo taken, receive it on the spot and post it while they were still there. That’s the power of event content when it’s delivered in the moment. Fast isn’t always best. “Connecting people authentically. That’s what we came to do.” This really stuck with me hearing it from Aaron Llavore, Creative Director at the San Francisco @49ers. In an industry that can sometimes become overly focused on content, numbers and reach, it was refreshing to hear someone at the highest level of sport put people and authentic connection at the centre of creativity. That’s what great storytelling should do. Make people feel something, bring people together and create a genuine connection. I finally did something: my first ever podcast 🎙️ A big thanks to @_emily_hill_ and @karinadubs_ from @youreingoodcompany__ for having me on and for creating the kind of conversation where you can properly unpack the good, the bad and everything in between. We spoke about business, building @v1studios.au , the evolution (and unraveling 💔) of V1, working in sport, finding your way through uncertainty and what it actually looks like trying to build something of your own. We touched on mental health, being a dad, being a friend, navigating the different chapters of life and trying to do my thing and figure it out as I go. Karina and I go way back to our Collingwood FC days, while Em brings her own experience from the @melbournefc and the commercial side of sport… so there was plenty of sport, business life chat packed into the episode. It was an absolute pleasure to sit down and have a proper chat with two great humans. And if there’s one thing I hope comes through, it’s this: It ain’t weak to speak! A hill I’m willing to die on 🏉🤳📷🎥🚀📈 The @afl @aflwomens and @7afl broadcast agreement needs to keep moving at the same speed as social media. Both are doing A LOT of great things, and I appreciate there’s plenty of context I’m probably missing after being out of clubland since July 2022. But… I’ve heard that burst photography is actually restricted under the current broadcast agreement (please correct if wrong). It’s 2026. Fans want the moments, the reactions, the chaos and the content… instantly. Let’s keep evolving, make our great game even more global and catch up with the international sports already smashing it on social.
