✨ Your business has a story. Let’s show it. ✨

I recently had the opportunity to photograph a physical therapist doing what they do best—working with their clients and providing care.

Rather than simply capturing what their business looks like, we wanted to capture what it feels like—the connection, the care, the experience, and the work that happens behind the scenes.

That’s what I love about branding + commercial photography. 🤍

Your business is more than a logo, a website, or a social media page. It’s the people behind it, the work you do, and the experience you create for your clients.

And those are the moments your potential clients want to see.

Whether you’re a healthcare provider, hairstylist, esthetician, realtor, contractor, small business owner, or service provider, I’d love to help you create authentic, professional images that tell your story and showcase your business in a way that feels true to you.

Because sometimes, the best way to show people what you do is simply to let them see you doing it. 🤍 by @tonicandphasic

Castor oil has been used in traditional medicine for centuries, dating back to Egyptian, Ayurvedic, and Eastern traditions. Hippocrates recommended it for constipation relief - a use it still has today!

It promotes blood flow, decreases inflammation, and is even used in many countries to dress wounds. We use castor oil in the clinic to promote tissue mobility, assist with constipation during abdominal massage, and treat fascial restriction.

Let us know your favorite therapy oil in the comments!

During pregnancy, your body adapts.

But low back pain, urinary leakage, pelvic pressure, hip discomfort, and constipation don’t have to be dismissed as “part of pregnancy” — pelvic floor therapy can help.

Birth preparation is a huge part of addressing symptoms, managing pressure, maintaining strength and relaxation, and balancing pelvic floor function.

And the evidence increasingly suggests that pregnancy is a critical time for pelvic health education and intervention.

Abdominal and pelvic pain involves more than the organs. The ligaments and connective tissue (fascia) learn to respond to pelvic pain by tightening and restricting, which increases your pain and discomfort.

Skin rolling is myofascial release — a manual therapy technique that brings blood flow to these connective tissues and fascia, encouraging relaxation of fascial restrictions around our sensitive organs.

Skin rolling shouldn’t be painful. Although it may cause discomfort, any pain experienced should be discussed with your provider.

Learn how to use this technique with the guidance of an expert at Tonic & Phasic Holistic Pelvic Health. As pelvic floor therapists, we are here to help you implement these tips at home!

Scar tissue after any abdominal surgery involves more than just the skin.

Layers of subcutaneous tissue, fascia, abdominal muscles, the peritoneum, and (if applicable) the uterus can all be affected. Each layer heals on a different timeline; so although the skin may appear closed, deeper connective tissues are still recovering.

Scar tissue can cause abdominal restrictions, hindering the organs’ ability to move functionally, contributing to pain and causing difficulty with normal functions like bladder and bowel function.

Scar tissue mobilization is an evidence-based approach to support the body’s healing and address underlying tissue restrictions. Whether you’ve had a C-section, laparoscopic surgery, appendectomy, hysterectomy, or another abdominal procedure, scar tissue mobilization can help!

Learn more about the scar healing process and book a discovery call for guidance during your recovery at tonicandphasic.com.

Next time you’re prescribed antibiotics without having a urine culture first — think twice!

It could actually be muscular restriction, hormonal imbalance, nervous system dysregulation—all of which Pelvic Floor Therapy can treat.

If the test comes back positive, it is essential to take the antibiotics to prevent a worsening infection.

But if the culture is negative, it’s time to look at your overall bladder function with a pelvic floor therapist. Because yes, these symptoms can feel exactly like a UTI and can be triggered by the same things.

Recurring UTI symptoms without a UTI detected can be very confusing, frustrating, and painful. You are not alone. If you’ve been told “Everything looks normal” with recurring symptoms, try pelvic floor therapy! Visit tonicandphasic.com/blog to learn more.
