The Fitzpatrick Family is issuing a limited-edition poster of Houdini. The
edition is limited to 500 prints, each accompanied by a certificate of
authenticity. All proceeds will support a number of projects the family is
undertaking dedicated to preserving and protecting the legacy of Tony’s life
and work.
In 1987, Tony left Chicago to pursue a career as an artist in New York.
When he returned to Chicago he was determined to create the same kind
of rebellious and vibrant artistic community he had experienced in New
York. In 1989, with the help of several friends, he opened the World Tattoo
Gallery in the then-crumbling South Loop.
Among the many heroes Tony celebrated in his work, Houdini was the
figure who resonated most deeply with him during this period of his career.
Houdini represented escape—a man capable of accomplishing the
seemingly impossible.
Tony created this poster to commemorate the inaugural exhibition at the
World Tattoo Gallery.

SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL
The Words, Songs & Poems of
TONY FITZPATRICK

Jon Langford and Rick Kogan present an evening of words, songs and poems written by the late visual artist, author, actor, gallerist and podcaster Tony Fitzpatrick. Long renowned for his etchings, illustrations and multi-media collages, Tony’s deep well of creative output also included poetry, personal essays, and on a much lesser-known basis, songwriting. Shining a light on these works, alongside Jon and Rick, will be vocalists Kelly Hogan and Sally Timms, drummer Quin Kirchner, guitarist John Szymanski, multi-faceted performer Al Scorch and lighting director Tracey Dear, with promotional support from John Soss.

Jon Langford is a songwriter, musician, artist and founding member of The Mekons, The Waco Brothers, The Pine Valley Cosmonauts and countless other musical ensembles. Rick Kogan is a celebrated veteran Chicago newspaperman, author, radio host, podcaster and champion of the arts.

This event will take place at Constellation for two nights: Wednesday, November 18 and Thursday, November 19, 2026. Show time each night is 8:00 pm. Doors open at 7:00 pm.

This will be a fully-seated general admission performance with tickets priced at just $25.00 plus fees. There will be a 4-ticket limit per purchase/per show. Tickets for both shows will be available beginning Friday, September 25 at 10:00 am and can be purchased online through https://constellation-chicago.com (https://constellation-chicago.com/)

Constellation is located at 3111 North Western Avenue on the northwest side of Chicago. A portion of the proceeds will be allocated to the Tony Fitzpatrick Family Trust. taken in Constellation Chicago by @tonyfitzpatrick9

NEW SPRING MENU this week courtesy of our very own estimable culinarian @seaghosts !! New menu art from the late, great @tonyfitzpatrick9 This was the original artwork Tony designed for our menus. I procrastinated and forgot how short and valuable life is. I hope that enormous pain in the ass is up there somewhere smiling. He was this restaurant’s best friend. Missing the big guy a lot lately. Anyway, come on down for Melody’s latest menu, it’s spectacular! Thanks so much for your support everyone! #peanutparktrattoria #littleitalychicago #tonyfitzpatrick by @tonyfitzpatrick9

We are beyond excited to brighten your Sunday evening by introducing a beautiful box of birds in collaboration with our beloved Bucktown neighbor, Tony Fitzpatrick. Available exclusively at Virtu, we love this as a gift for the collector, the birder, the naturalist and just because.

Artist, poet, actor, writer Tony Fitzpatrick is, perhaps, Chicago’s greatest storyteller. An avid birder, he has produced hundreds of etchings and collages of the avian nature, these from the Songbird series of mixed media collage.

Virtu is honored to have been asked to join forces with Tony Fitzpatrick for this project. ❤️
