🗓️✂️June 6th, 5pm-8ish i’m going to host a little art show! i’ll be hanging some things @jade.a.pnw.bar downtown. everything will be framed and reasonably priced!

i’ll also set up a mini-collage night. come on down and make some collages with me. as always all supplies will be provided, or bring your own!

i’ve had some people asking when my next collage night will be and i’m hoping to do one soon! i’d like to try a new venue, so if anyone can suggest a nice open space that’s all ages friendly i’m all ears! taken in Jade bar by @tonykuchar_

Excited to finally share this! I designed the cover art for Visit Spokane’s 2025 Visitor Guide.

The project’s scope required me to collage digitally. Which I love doing but have never done to this level of complexity before. I was given access to Visit Spokane’s photo archive where I had thousands of pictures to choose from. The final image is a blend of photography and my own scanned textures, scribbles and scrap pieces of paper.

[NERD TANGENT] The final Photoshop file contains 120 individual layers, most layers have several different filters or effects applied to them. These settings are unique to each layer and give the photos an aged appearance. There are also tons of layer masks used to create the ripped edge effects around each component, all of which I drew in by hand. I created and scanned dozens of textures and organic marks to layer and blend with the photographs. This gave things a messy handmade feel. Finally, each component had to be individually color adjusted to match the overall temperature of the piece. I find these technical aspects neat, maybe others do too!

I had such a great time playing around and creating this. Big time thanks to Rose, Kate and Katie at Visit Spokane for giving me the opportunity :)
