actually very glad the first pedal didn't work out because it looks childish compared to the second pedal... the metal plus thin cork was 1000% the way to go (and I would have done thin cork from the start except I already had the 1/4 inch so didn't want to go buy a new thickness. so when forced to get new cork anyways the thin cork was the obvious choice)

either way they were successfully cut thanks to @bambulab_official

I actually have several more chalk boxes I want to make for people but have so much sewing and actual real life job work to do in the next few weeks so unfortunately my future carpentry projects will trickle out slowly. but mark my words this box of razors for @firmeatelier is not the last version you will see me make

and thank you again to Kaua for the help!! and Koy for letting me use the studio @teh_ua @koysun

never have I considered wanting a dress form UNTIL it came time to sew these chains on and I had to call Kei to drape some embroidery thread over the chain placement... it turns out it's very hard to drape things on a flat garment. not impossible but I concede this dress form business intrigues me

also it turns out dressmaking is very hard but also wildly rewarding in a different way. I am used to either making exceedingly regular clothes for use in daily life of goofy clothes for the fun of it, but dresses feel like a quintessentially "fashion" item... like dresses are what you see on the runway and in the museums and on the red carpet. I have never particular felt like I participate in the actual world of design and fashion and obviously this is not a groundbreaking garment in any sense but makes me relate to the craft of sewing in a new ish way

and finally Kei's hair at the end (at our friends' wedding) was by @getcutanddye who worked some extra chain into the hairstyle which was super neat for all you folks in San Diego with hair in need of care

I don't know if you can tell from just watching this but this video was originally a bit longer but none of those extra lines really added anything. they helped to clarify and crystallize the points I'd already made a tiny bit but for the sake of brevity and directness I cut them and now I feel like the video is missing something. but when I tried to throw those lines back in it felt kind of redundant and stale.

overall the point of this video is that embroidery and sashiko are different styles of sewing which is why the threads are kind of different. sashiko has several stitches made per pull and the needle moves parallel to the fabric, while embroidery is mostly built up one stitch at a time perpendicular to the fabric. hopefully that makes sense

might have to make myself some dirt pants to complete the camouflage look... #ad you would not beleaf the range of intreesting projects made possible by the @Cricut Maker 5 by @toofbush

obviously it is possible to sew a nice knit hem without this! but I find stabilizer to be pretty foolproof and reliable for a crisp fold with no waviness

I cannot stress to you enough Cade and Kiyomi are probably the people I see most like probably we average 8 times a week (Cade is my gym buddy) and somehow we never run out of things to talk about (it's mostly me complaining or them making fun of me)

bookings are now open if you wanna hire our melodica duo. naturally, I'll have to make myself a case too if we're gonna go pro. and also probably learn how to play the melodica
