/ There’s nothin’ like a low winter sun in the pacific northwest.

From a trip to Kingston last January with @ferriesonfilm, half the photographers at the meetup were crawling over each other to take photos of these chairs.

/ This is a pedestrian tunnel in Stockholm that feels very space age. Lined with semi-polished metal panels and gently curved, walking it can feel like making your way through a sci-fi movie set. Panorama was the right move.

/ Experimenting with motion during a panorama capture has been fun. This camera essentially exposes just like a document scanner, so instead of a blurry image you get a different beast.

/ The gothic architecture of the reading room at the Suzzallo/Allen library on UW’s campus was truly something else. It’s a shame that a place with such great acoustics demands you to be as quiet as a mouse.

/ Some more ferry frames. Creating warped, sweeping tunnels is one of my favorite ways to use a panorama. With the right room or structure, you get a wonderful sci-fi look.

/ One thing I miss about Seattle are the ferries. There are many ferries in Stockholm, but none quite as conducive to photography like Washington’s ferries. One can find a fresh angle in any corner and every level of these #wsferries boats. Here are a couple of film panoramas from the last time I rode one for a #ferriesonfilm event on a rainy day.

/ Contrast, contrast, contrast. With hardly any dependable sunlight during winter, contrast became a big part of my visual world. / Winter is hands-down one of the best times of the year to hunt for textures. With the little sun we’d get on a daily basis, I found myself always looking closely at natural textures and patterns. The ice covering so much of the water here offered some great contrasts from the subtle erosion etched by water on the surface, or from the gashes left by a skater. taken in Stockholm, Sweden by @tor.ga
