“I don’t like parties, and I don’t like surprises.”

Said my husband 6 days before his surprise party. 🫪

I know that. I know him. And I am well aware of his likes, dislikes, needs, wants, desires, and boundaries. Hear me out.

Months into my family and I planning his party, his life was suddenly shaken by two major incidents literally one day apart. It further solidified the “why” this celebration of his life HAD to happen.

When it comes to my husband, I will go to the ends of the earth and heavens to remind him how worthy he is of every ounce of love that surrounds him. As I’ve told him many times before, he WILL receive his flowers while he’s still alive to smell them.

Thank you for allowing us to love on and celebrate you, babe. @beardedbear_1911

And to our village, thank y’all for showing up! For taking flights, gassing up and driving hours IN THIS ECONOMY, booking hotels, and making it here no matter what!

Said my husband 2 days after his surprise party. 🥹

After it was all said and done, it was worth it. And I would say I’d do it all over again, but I’m not. 😂 No more surprises.

#2016 🥹

A year that solidified what sisterhood and friendship meant. I was sure of my faith and I wasn’t afraid of trying. It was the year I hung up my pageant shoes and stepped fully into my career era. It was when I started traveling — from my first cruise to my first solo travel to DC. I KEPT my little Hyundai on the road! I showed up for my friends and family no matter how much it may have seemed I was doing the most.
