Jewish learning is a spiritual practice. Wherever you are, wherever you want to go, come learn and practice with The Torah Studio,

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We're sad to be announcing the immediate closure of The Torah Studio.

We are so proud of the work we've done and the community we've built together. Thousands of people who had never believed Torah was meant for them have now built meaningful lives rooted in Jewish wisdom. Hundreds have brought their newly empowered Torah voices to Jewish communities around the world.

We've decided that, as an early start-up nonprofit, we are not able to continue to sustainably commit to our mission of accessible, meaningful Torah learning for all Jews. Growing an organization is a separate and no longer fruitful part of the work Liana and Lexi are meant to be doing.

Though the announcement has had to be sudden, we want to let you know this decision has been made with slowness, care, and deep reflection. The speed is due to the fact that the next steps of our work have already begun.

Go to the link in our bio to send your thanks to the Torah Studio team and to follow along with Liana and Lexi's future journeys. by @torahstudio

A little word about occupation and storytelling by @torahstudio

The goal of Worlds To Come is to teach classical Hebrew in ways that conventional education can’t.

I’ve played with rabbinical students who light up as they explain their mystical take on the word מים water to the demon mother Lilith; I’ve seen 14 year olds get into heated debates over whether במה or מזבח is the best word for altar in a prayer to prevent a wrongful ritual execution.

But how, exactly, does a roleplaying game teach Hebrew?

The time has finally arrived! After 3 years of writing, playtesting, and dreaming, Worlds To Come: The Hebrew roleplaying game by Lexi Kohanski is ready. It's the first and only roleplaying game that teaches you classical Hebrew as you play.

I made Worlds To Come because too often the way we do Hebrew education doesn't work. Hebrew is an ancient, holy language with thousands of years of wisdom and delight to offer us; it should be easy to get students inspired with a language like that! Instead, it's hard to hold kids' attention after they already spent a full day in school, and it's near impossible to find accessible Hebrew classes for adults. Worlds To Come is a game that brings us the full power of our people's sacred language.

Follow the project on Kickstarter by clicking "Notify me on launch." Once we get about 600 followers, we'll launch the fundraiser and you can contribute to get a book and deck of your own!
