How to get to The Toronto Islands?

You can take the ferry from The Jack Layton Ferry Terminal to Ward’s Island in the winter.

What is the ferry schedule?

You can see the ferry schedules at Toronto.Ca and even buy tickets online.

What is the cost?

It costs around $10 to go to and from the island.

Do you have any Other tips?

Dress super warm as it gets cold out there and make sure to bring some snacks and water as there isn’t any retail stores there.

🥖 Blackbird Baking Co. has arrived in Mirvish Village!

A Toronto favourite for naturally leavened sourdough, baguettes and beautifully made pastries, Blackbird Baking Co. is now part of the next chapter of this historic neighbourhood at 610 Markham Street. (Mirvish Village⁠)

Mirvish Village has a fascinating history. In the 1960s, “Honest” Ed Mirvish bought up the Victorian houses along Markham Street with plans to turn them into a parking lot for his famous Honest Ed’s store. When the city rejected the plan, Mirvish and his wife Anne instead transformed the houses into an artists’ enclave filled with studios, galleries, shops and restaurants. The area became known as Mirvish Village, one of Toronto’s most distinctive cultural neighbourhoods. (Cit of Toronto⁠)

Today, the restored heritage houses and new development are bringing that independent spirit back to Markham Street — with places like Blackbird helping give the Village a new reason to visit.
