Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez has been denied a state audit of CVUSD twice. @torozambrano_ met with him to discuss why he believes an independent audit is necessary and why transparency and accountability matter to the Coachella Valley community.

Today was a reminder of what can happen when people simply choose to show up for their community.

We are incredibly grateful to @worldsfinestbarbershop__ for partnering with us and helping make this event possible. What started as an idea to give back turned into a beautiful day of community, generosity, and love.

Because of everyone who came together, we were able to provide over 100 FREE haircuts, thats over $4,000 in donated services, along with free school supplies for local students. ✂️🎒📚

To every barber and cosmetologist who donated their time and talent, every sponsor who contributed, every business that donated, every volunteer who helped behind the scenes, and every person who showed up to support — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. None of this would have been possible without you.

We are extremely blessed to be able to do things like this for our community, and we don’t take that opportunity for granted. Seeing families come through the doors, kids leave with fresh haircuts and school supplies, and so many people willing to give their time and resources was a reminder of what makes this community so special.

When we come together, we can make a real difference.❤️

❤️ COMMUNITY IS WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT.

A huge THANK YOU to @worldsfinestbarbershop__ for partnering with us and helping make this event possible! 🙏🏽✂️

Because of your generosity and the generosity of everyone who showed up, we were able to provide OVER 100 FREE HAIRCUTS. Thats more than $4,000 worth of haircuts along with FREE SCHOOL SUPPLIES.

We are truly blessed and grateful to have been given the opportunity to put something positive back into the community we love. This event wasn’t just about a haircut or a backpack. It was about bringing people together, giving back, and making sure local families know that their community is here for them. ❤️

To every barber and cosmetologist who donated their time, talent, and energy, THANK YOU. Your willingness to give up your time to serve others does not go unnoticed. You made a real difference for more than 100 families and kids. 🙏🏽

And to everyone who came out, supported, donated, volunteered, or simply shared the event, thank you. None of this happens without all of you.

🚨 FLOCK CAMERAS: PRIVACY, SURVEILLANCE & PUBLIC INPUT

I asked @heatherraaaae on her thoughts on the growing use of Flock cameras across the Coachella Valley and her answer was clear, she believes they are an invasion of privacy.

Heather says she has concerns that Flock technology may be used for purposes beyond what the public is being told, including concerns about tracking people who are simply walking through our communities. She also raised questions about homelessness and the movement of unhoused individuals between states and communities.

We also discussed the Palm Springs City Council’s recent approval of Flock cameras and additional AI-related technology. Heather expressed concern that these decisions were made without enough public input.

At Daily Dunes, we believe our community deserves to understand what technology is being used, where it is being used, what information is being collected, who has access to it, how long that information is kept, and what it can legally be used for.

This isn’t about telling people what to think.

It’s about asking questions, bringing information forward, and making sure our community is informed enough to have a meaningful conversation about surveillance and privacy.

Heather had a message for the community:

“Stand strong. Stand up. Know your rights.”

We caught up with professional boxer @j.camarillo7 after joining us at the Daily Dunes Run Club and we had to ask her what she thought of the experience.

Jocelyn also shared a little about @coachella_valley_boxing_club_ , a local gym that is open and free to the public. Whether you choose to get active at the gym, join us for a Run Club, or find another way to stay moving, there are opportunities right here in our community to take care of yourself and stay active. Staying active isn’t just about physical health, exercise can also play an important role in supporting our mental health. Getting outside, moving your body, connecting with others, and finding a positive outlet can all help improve your mood and overall well-being. Sometimes taking that first step is the hardest part, but you don’t have to do it alone. ❤️

And make sure you show some love to our local fighters! 🥊🔥 Jocelyn will be back in the ring August 21 at @pechangacasino. Go support her, support local boxing, and represent the Coachella Valley!

Daily Dunes Run Club 7✝️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Every week, I’m reminded just how grateful I am for this community. Seeing familiar faces continue to show up, meeting new people, and watching Daily Dunes Run Club grow into something so special has been incredible.
What started as a simple run has become a space where people connect, encourage each other, build friendships and a place where we continue to grow our faith. Thank you to every single person who shows up and makes this community what it is. You all are the reason this keeps growing.

A huge thank you to @j.camarillo7 for taking the time to join us today and support the club, especially with a big fight coming up on August 21 at @pechangacasino. Back to School Community Giveback ‼️📓✏️

Join us on Tuesday, August 11, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM as we help students get ready for a successful school year!

We’re proud to partner with @worldsfinestbarbershop__ and @palmvalleyapparel to provide FREE haircuts for students.

Want to help? Instead of cash, we’re asking for school supply donations. Your donation will go directly to students in our community and help them start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.

📚 We’re accepting: backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, markers, folders, glue, scissors, and other school essentials.

The road out of homelessness often requires more than one solution, and many organizations in Indio are working every day to provide support, treatment, and hope.

@oscarortizindio points to resources including food assistance, shelters, recovery programs, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, mental health services, and nonprofit organizations that help individuals and families get back on their feet.

How is Indio working to address homelessness?

We asked Indio Councilmember @oscarortizindio about the city’s approach to one of the Coachella Valley’s biggest challenges.

Ortiz says Indio has one of the county’s largest social service efforts and is home to 25% of Riverside County’s shelter beds. He says the city is carrying a significant share of the region’s response to homelessness and is working alongside local law enforcement and nonprofit organizations to help connect people with services and a path out of homelessness.

❤️Coachella showed up.

After the fire at El Tepeyac, dozens of community members came together to help with today’s cleanup. A special thank you to @rcbrozjunk760llc and @aac.hauling for donating their time, equipment, and services to help remove debris.

We also spoke with Marisol Flores, daughter of the owners, who shared her heartfelt gratitude for everyone who came out to support their family during this difficult time.

Moments like these remind us what makes our community so special. When one local business is hurting, neighbors, volunteers, and local companies step in to lift them back up. It wasn’t about recognition, it was about showing up, lending a hand, and proving that no one has to face hardship alone.

This is what community looks like. Coachella continues to show that compassion, generosity, and unity are stronger than any setback.
