Love it or hate it, the Ferrari Luce has certainly got everyone talking.

Ferrari’s first fully electric car is a radical departure from what we’ve come to expect from the Prancing Horse. And perhaps that’s exactly the point.

In the flesh, the Luce is far more striking than the pictures suggest. It’s not conventionally sexy, but there’s something intriguing about its understated design. And that interior? A refreshing reminder that technology doesn’t have to mean doing away with physical buttons and switches.

Underneath its unconventional exterior lies some serious performance, with 1,050hp, a 0–100 km/h sprint of just 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 310km/h.

The price of admission? Close to S$2 million in Singapore, based on current COE prices. And with the 2026 allocation reportedly spoken for, it seems there are plenty of buyers willing to embrace Ferrari’s electric future.

Controversial? Absolutely. Boring? Definitely not.

Would you put S$2 million down for one?

Childrens' Day in a Porsche Macan 2 Electric

The starting point for any Porsche is that it must *feel* good. Not just good but Porsche good.

And it does.
The way a Montblanc feels better over paper than another otherwise perfectly competent pen never could.
The way a Wolfgang Puck steak satisfies your teeth and your fingers under the knife like how fast food simply cannot replicate.
The way Josh Groban lifts the soul a million times better than me at karaoke
The way Hong Mei Ren oranges just hit different from mere regular mandarins.

Even the toddlers got it.

It's an intangible quality, baked into every interaction with the machine, that makes me confident Porsches will forever be special.

The new Urban Cruiser is now in town. Toyota's smallest EV (which Suzuki also sells as the e VITARA) is a compact crossover that measures 4,285mm long and has a wheelbase length of 2,700mm – a handy size for built-up areas.

The Urban Cruiser is equipped with amenities expected by today's drivers. These include an ADAS suite, digital instrument panel, mood lighting, and a versatile boot, thanks to the 40-20-40 split-folding seats. Its boot capacity ranges from 306 litres (seats up) to 562 litres (seats folded).

The electric motor produces 106kW (142bhp) and 192Nm of torque. Fed by a 49kWh battery, the Urban Cruiser does 0-100km/h in 9.6 seconds and has a maximum driving range of 326km.

At time of posting, the Urban Cruiser starts from $209,888 with COE. taken in Singapore / Singapura / 新加坡 / சிங்கப்பூர் by @torque.sg

There’s nothing quite like the Defender Octa Black.

A symphony in (Narvik) black, it gets to 100kmh in 4.4 seconds and onto a top speed of 250kmh. Dropping that number back to zero falls to massive 3-piston monobloc calipers.

All of this while being even more capable than the Defender 110:

+28mm taller vs Defender 110
+68mm wider vs Defender 110
+100mm wading depth vs Defender 110

Going off-road in style, speed and substance couldn’t be easier.

Neue Klasse. A label that is writing big cheques. The first Neue Klasse was a defining triumph that wrote much of BMW's modern history. This one is intended to herald the company's brave new future in the digitised electric world. Has it worked? In a word, yes.

I'll be honest, in recent times, I've grown jaded. I've silently condemned the Europeans to a certain demise. Questioned if, in a sea of unremarkable competencee, the premium sector was still at all meaningful. Oh how i should never have doubted you.

This right here is cure for ennui. A cure for cynicism. A delightful beacon of hope and proof that BMW absolutely has still got it, no matter the circumstances.

To begin with; the classic BMW superpower.
This is machine you are deeply pleased to be in control of, in the same way it is pleasurable to use a good fountain pen. And that's a sensation i havn't felt in a long time, one that almost magically BMW (and Porsche) conjure repeatedly.

Even the artificial soundtrack has the perfect taut, metallic timbre for an EV. Yes, its an illusion, but a damn good one. Combined with the razor sharp precision of the pedal and you get the rare EV powertrain that feels granular and meatily tactile rather than elastic and rubber-band like. It is a pedal that feels great to push against. In short... This is an EV whose bombast you'll actually use and use for fun. A real pleasure.

In its knees, the car's damping is on point and graceful, arresting motions with velvet gloved authority after bumps big or small. Then you have the traditional BMW signatures: just-right driving position, naturally intuitive sense of position and proportion.

As for ADAS .. the car slows itself progressively and naturally when you are rapidly approaching an obstacle, in a way an alert and competent driver would. Again, deft execution makes a feature that would otherwise be irritating actually useful.

This.. this is what a car company with as much depth of experience and expertise in the craft of driving machine making can do. It is the special sauce. Proof that this art is, as if we ever should have needed reminding, not a mere features-at-the-wall job. Bravo

There are media drives, and then there are media drives that involve spending a whole afternoon behind the wheel of a Ferrari Amalfi Spider in Greece. 🇬🇷

We took this beauty on a 181km route through Agioi Theodoroi, covering three hours of expressways, country roads, tiny villages and winding mountain routes.

It was the sort of journey that revealed a different side of Ferrari.

Against a landscape of olive trees and enormous wind turbines dotting the mountains, the Amalfi Spider felt less like a supercar reserved for special occasions and more like a companion for a Mediterranean road trip.

When the Greek sunshine appears, the soft top can be lowered in just 13.5 seconds, even while travelling at speeds of up to 60km/h. With the roof down, the sights, sounds and atmosphere of the Greek countryside become part of the experience.

Of course, there is no forgetting what sits beneath the bonnet: a 640hp twin-turbo V8. Performance is hardly something a Ferrari needs to prove.

What was perhaps more interesting was discovering how the Amalfi Spider behaved when life became considerably less glamorous.

There were stray dogs and cats along the country roads that called for a more cautious pace. A fire along the expressway eventually brought traffic almost to a standstill. Add toll booths, village roads and everyday traffic into the mix, and this was hardly three hours of uninterrupted high-speed driving.

Yet that was precisely what made the journey interesting.

The Amalfi Spider proved remarkably easy to live with through the mundane moments, while always keeping that V8 in reserve for when the road opened up.

Not every Ferrari journey needs to be about chasing lap times or finding the fastest route from A to B.

Sometimes, the luxury is having the roof down, Mediterranean sunshine overhead and 181km of Greece waiting to be explored.

No Cyclopes. No Sirens. No mythological monsters.

Just a Ferrari Amalfi Spider, the open road and a rather memorable Greek odyssey.

Coinciding with the model’s launch was the preview of Mercedes-Benz Studio Singapore, which is located in Gardens by the Bay. Singapore is the 14th city to host a Studio, and the space will be used for launches, lifestyle events, and creative collaborations.

The Studio will open to visitors on 2 September 2026. by @torque.sg

Here’s a quick preview of what to expect at Concours d’Elegance Singapore 2026.

There’s a selection of classic automobiles (with a few standout examples), plus a number of modern supercars. But if you’re the type who’s eager to see rare and iconic models such as the Aston Martin DB5, Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster, or Ferrari 250 GTO, you’re going to be disappointed.

But if you’re not a hardcore classic car enthusiast and don’t mind paying $29 to see these automobiles in a comfortable environment, then this is one activity to consider this weekend.

Concours d’Elegance Singapore 2026 is on from 14-16 August 2026 at IMBA Theatre in Gardens by the Bay. by @torque.sg

Easy recommendation: MG S6.
Generously sized (but not too big) SUV for an eye -wideningly reasonable price ($200,888 as of 5 Aug 2026).

Ease of use is top notch: the thing has real buttons and real door handles; people infuriated by the overdigitisation of basic controls have a reprieve here.

Fully featured; as most Chinese EVs are nowadays:
Panoramic moonroof
360 cam
HUD
Seat aircon
Wireless phone mirroring
Kick-activated power tailgate.
11 speaker sound system with surprising depth
Class leading 530km range
Very comfy suede lined seats with generous thigh support

No fridge nor massage chairs (present in the higher end Aion V, but I don't miss those)

MG isnt a luxury brand and doesn't pretend to be, but theres a nice squishiness to the interior construction and theres even a bit of visual interest in the furnishings.

Drive and ADAS are well calibrated for a taut and precise feeling, if ultimately detached experience. I would however, trade a bit of body control for some more cream in the springs. Upper Thomson Road is better smoothed over by the Aion V. 109kW for a Cat A eligible powertrain is more than enough for the cut and thrust of Singapore traffic.

Complaints are minor: the infotainment is a bit laggy and has uninspiring icons and fonts. Wireless phone mirroring connection is occasionally dropped. Plus the exterior design is as anonymous as they come. Ultimately this is a well rounded product that is hard to argue with as a tool, and a worthy competitor to the Aion V and BYD Sealion 7 for sheer stonking value.

The all-new, all-electric Porsche Cayenne is now here. It is available in three variants:

Cayenne Electric – up to 325kW (436hp) and 835Nm, 0-100km/h in 4.8 seconds
Cayenne S Electric – up to 490kW (657hp) and 1080Nm, 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds
Cayenne Turbo Electric – up to 850kW (1,140hp) and 1500Nm, 0-100km/h in 2.5 seconds

Each model can be had in either SUV or Coupe form, with the latter featuring a sloped roofline with a fastback-style rear.

Significantly, this is the first time that the Cayenne is available as an electric model. The Cayenne Turbo is also the most powerful production Porsche ever produced. An SUV, not a two-door sports car, now sits atop the brand’s performance range.

Prices (excluding COE) for the Cayenne Electric models start from $372,788 and from $480,388 for the Cayenne S Electric. The Cayenne Turbo models start from $668,288. taken in Singapore / Singapura / 新加坡 / சிங்கப்பூர் by @torque.sg
