When a skate shop closes, you can’t just replace it with another website.

You lose the people who know the skate community, the place that supports the skater coming up, and a spot where the next generation can walk in and feel included.

Joseph Gil knows why keeping independent skate shops around matters.

Brick & Mortar Foundation is working to help these shops stay open and keep local skateboarding moving forward.

A lot of skateboarding starts at the local shop.

It’s where you get your first setup, meet the crew, hear about a session, discover new brands, and start making connections that can stick with you for years.

Jhionn Moreno reminds us why having these places in our communities still matters.

Brick & Mortar Foundation is working to keep independent skate shops open, healthy, and part of skateboarding’s future.
