We started this project last year, and I am really happy to see it done, that was quite and adventure

I really love creating text and ornamental composition,

I really love this song,

for me calligraphy and music have a lot of similarities: notions like rythme or the trying to find harmony between different elements for instance, but to me, calligraphy, like music, communicates things that you cannot easily say with words,

I would love to make a tattoo project out of this composition one day 🥀 by @totallyscribes

a heart pierced by an arrow,
a classic representation of never ending passion, falling in love like falling in an abush, a passion so strong it hurts, being seduced in an instant for ever, or the terrible power of cupid

but what I like in this ornamental representation, is that the structure seems to me like a very long path creating a labyrinth or a net in which you could feel traped inside, but only if you don't take a step back to analyse the pattern, because there is a beginning and an end however complicated it might appear by @totallyscribes

I am really happy to share with you some healed pictures of this project we finished around 1 year and 6 month ago,

this is the result after a last touch up session, because some letters needed to be more defined

I am forever grateful to my client for trusting me all along the creation of his first tattoo, I think we are both glad to see the result after so many hours, ✨

I really love drawing birds, especially swallows,

the traditional meaning of a swallow tattoo would be the idea of a safe return to home, but also hope, loyalty and enduring love,

but what I like about this ornamental calligraphy style is that it shows the movement of the pen gleefully sliding on the paper as if it was flying in the air, creating complex patterns like knots or labyrinths but with a movement that is intuitive and playful

I could not see a better way to represent a Bird by @totallyscribes

This tattoo style should be called
BAROQUE WORK,

a combination of baroque ornamental calligraphy, line work and blackwork,

I like to imagine this could have been a trendy tattoo style among sailors during the Italian renaissance,

It represents a stiletto Dagger, also called Miséricorde, stabbed deep into a skull, the traditional meaning would be
acceptance of death, living through hard times, bravery etc
but what it means to me is:
"slaying with stilettos..." 👠💀 by @totallyscribes
