Let’s kick it off with our president and an original founding member, @tourguidekim

“Hi, I’m Kimberly, one of the founders of Clean Water Coalition.

As a Florida native and paddleboard guide from Central Florida, I’ve had the privilege of spending countless hours on some of the most beautiful waterways in the state. Every day, I get to watch people fall in love with Florida’s crystal-clear springs, incredible wildlife, and wild landscapes. But I’ve also witnessed the growing amount of litter making its way into the places we care so deeply about.

My appreciation for Florida grew even stronger after spending a few years living in Las Vegas. While I enjoyed many parts of the Southwest, I found myself deeply missing the ecosystems I had grown up with. I missed the shade of cypress trees, the sound of spring water flowing and the feeling of being surrounded by water. Being away made me realize these places weren’t just beautiful—they were part of who I am. Returning home gave me a renewed sense of purpose and a desire to protect the landscapes that had shaped my life.

What began as a few tour guides picking up trash after our shifts quickly turned into something much bigger. Together, my fellow river guides and I realized we wanted to do more than clean up after the problem—we wanted to build a community dedicated to protecting Florida’s waterways. That shared passion became the CleanWaterCoalition.

Florida has given me a lifetime of adventure, peace, and unforgettable memories. Through Clean Water Coalition, I hope to help ensure these wild places remain healthy and accessible for future generations. Whether you’re joining us for your first cleanup or have been protecting our waterways for years, I’m grateful you’re here. Together, we can make a lasting difference for the waters that connect us all.”
