Yes, I'm bringing out this old picture of this "overloved" book AGAIN...

This is my beginning.. technically my first book... It's only one copy and it's handwritten, but it's me.

My grandma gave me this book when I needed a notebook for my poetry. Those of you who have seen it in person, can attest to the fact that it's huge! This giant government-issued book for recording only God knows what, that she got from work.

However, when she gave it to me I didn't feel overwhelmed or pressured. I felt challenged. Challenged to fill it with me. Whether she ever knew it or not, meant it that way or not, the fact that she gave me such an enormous book, made me feel like she thought I had endless potential. I will forever love her for that.

I couldn't keep her forever but I will be buried with this book. by @toya_jackofnone

When I say this was an AMAZING event...it's a tremendous understatement! I've never cried so much and laughed so hard in the same space. All the while feeling completely comfortable to release whatever joy, stress, love, or otherwise that my body needed to. And it was perfectly paced to do all of those things and leave feeling lighter! Thank you @stillstandingconference @wwanpodcast for this! It was definitely what we all needed to continue standing! 🫶🏾💪🏾

Easy to see how this event is on it's 5th year! Congrats!!!

(Aaaaand as the cherry on top I FINALLY got to witness @patrice_live and @yushaassad perform Remedy live! The video goes crazy! Check it out!!!!)
