Last Saturday, we were delighted to celebrate the 45th anniversary and official grand re-opening of the Flemingdon Park branch of @torontolibrary. The branch's revitalization was made possible through the generous support of Osmington Inc. and WJ Properties, whose investment reflects a shared commitment to the Flemingdon Park community. The day brought together residents, families, supporters, and library staff for a joyful community celebration. by @tpl.foundation

Today, we remember @DollyParton—not only as a legendary singer and cultural icon, but as a lifelong literacy champion whose belief in the power of books changed millions of lives.

Inspired by her father's inability to read and write, Dolly founded the @ImaginationLibrary in 1995. What began as a free book gifting program for children in her home county has grown to span five countries, gifting more than 300 million books and inspiring a love of reading in generations of young readers.

As Dolly once said: “The seeds of dreams are often found in books, and the seeds you help plant in your community can grow across the world.”

Today, that legacy lives on in every child who opens a book and discovers a dream of their own. 📚💙

For Prachi, a moment of career uncertainty became a doorway to something new.

Through @TorontoLibrary, she was able to take a Google AI Essentials course for free, building the skills she needed to reimagine her career in digital marketing and launch her own business.

Across the city, TPL is helping thousands of people gain confidence with emerging technology through free, accessible learning.
