Meet coach Tracey Hemphill!

“With over two decades of coaching experience, I’ve worked with swimmers across every stage – from Learn to Swim and school programs to national and international competitors. I was Head Coach at Florida Swimming Club from 2004 to 2019, growing it from a small group to over 60 competitive swimmers. Today, I proudly lead Aqua Athlete Durban, where our swimmers represent at all levels of the sport.” - @traceyhemphill

Beyond the pool deck, Tracey is also a Mental Performance Coach and founder of The Complete Athlete, helping ambitious athletes unlock clarity, confidence, and their full potential. She has seen firsthand how mental skills can transform performance – and I brings that into my coaching every day.

“I believe in coaching the whole athlete – mind and body. My approach is athlete-centered, grounded in trust, communication, and accountability. I aim to help each swimmer find their Flow State, embrace challenges, and become resilient both in sport and life. For me, it’s not just about the times on the clock – it’s about building people of character, confidence, and courage.” - @traceyhemphill

Fun Fact:
“I’m not just a coach – I’m also a swim mom! I’ve experienced this sport through the eyes of a parent and an athlete, and I’m passionate about creating supportive environments for both. Oh, and I can talk about mindset tools, brain science, or race strategy for hours – just ask!”

I love you more than I have ever felt in my life, but you taught me that the most profound loss is survivable. So much more than a father, my world, the best example of a man. The pain, indescribable. But looking at these pictures gave me a little of your energy. The Lion sleeps. 💔💔💔💔❤️❤️❤️❤️ by @traceyhemphill
