Today I celebrated my sweet friend, Soror, and my Jaguar Sista, Jackie Farley Jeanpierre!! She lived her best life!! We laughed so hard, we cried!! I loved her with all of my heart!! I will miss her so much!! She truly made my heart smile!! I will forever live the Jackie way!! Loving, fierce, DIVA personified, Jag until you die, insightful, a great friend and lover of life!! On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, I had the surreal experience of flying to Washington DC. I woke up thinking how the victims felt that morning going on their way, kissing their families , making upcoming plans and leaving tasks undone that could be completed later that day or week. I thought about the love they felt for their families expressed to them that morning before leaving for work. I thought about how many prayed for a good, blessed and productive day. I thought about the parents of the 6th graders who were so proud to see their babies go on that field trip and looking forward to sharing their memories with them when they returned!!! When I landed safely in DC, I thought this is how the day should have ended for four planes,two crashed into the WTC, one crashed in the Pentagon and the last one crashed in Shanksville Pa. My heart breaks thinking about the fear, horror and the heroic acts in the final moments for all who lost their lives!! I am so sorry the victims did not have an opportunity to finish the day like it started! Rest my fellow Americans… A day that will forever change all of us!!!
