Wilder & Dodger’s MOM 💙 💙
“We could not talk or talk forever and still find things to not talk about.”
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR @atpwhitefish
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
It’s 9/11. I don’t talk about this a lot, because it’s not about me,but I was there in the Village, just 18 years old. I was getting ready for work in my new apartment, with a kitten, two garbage bags of clothes, and no bed yet. I was listening to Howard Stern talk about the chaos when I walked outside to sell hair promotions on the street. I thought he was making a BAD joke. If you know, you know. A woman with blood running from her ear came running toward me screaming, “They’re bombing us. They’re bombing us. They’re blowing up our city.” I had no idea what was happening. There were no smart phones or iPhones to tell us what was happening. My street became an evacuation route, and all I knew was that I needed to get to my family. I had a disposable camera in my bag. I looked up and saw the second plane hit. I took a picture. I still have it. I also have photographs of the city going completely silent as the towers fell. I eventually found a payphone and used the 5 quarters in my pocket, putting quarter after quarter into the phone until I finally reached my parents. “Mom and Dad, I’m okay. I’m alive” The days that followed were some of the scariest and most beautiful of my life. I saw New York come together. I saw people searching the streets for their loved ones. I sang in Union Square with friends who had found me and with people who, like me, called this city home. I will never forget that day, that city, or the humanity I witnessed in the days that followed. by @tracymcdowell1

Happy New Year! (…a little late) Another year down and it flew by at warp speed—or honestly, Ludicrous Speed. We’re a little late to the game, but such was our year. So grateful for my family: the crew that keeps the ship running, even when things get a little Dark Helmet-level chaotic. And huge thanks to our friends and extended family—our true Schwartz—who support us, cheer us on, and make the journey so much more fun. Here’s to a new year full of hope, health, laughter, and maybe slowing down to plaid just a little less often. Thank you for being part of our beautiful, messy, wonderful galaxy. Let’s keep going… May the Schwartz be with you. Happy New Year! 🥂🚀 @thewmatt for the win on the pic! by @tracymcdowell1
