I’ve been studying Psalm 23 and came across this image today and it took my breath away..

In Middle Eastern shepherding, the shepherd doesn’t drive the sheep, he walks ahead of them.
They follow because they know his voice.

The Good Shepherd leads.

And unlike what we imagine, “green pastures” aren’t wide, lush fields…they’re actually small, hidden patches that the shepherd has already searched out.
Which means provision is never accidental.
It’s intentional.

The paths aren’t random either, they’re well-worn, tested paths that have safely led flocks for generations.

And the valleys?
They’re real places…narrow, unpredictable, and dangerous.

But the psalm doesn’t say we avoid them.
It says we’re led through them.

So the pressure to have it all figured out,
to get every step right, to see what’s ahead…was never ours to carry.

We are not self-led.
We are being shepherded.

By the one who has already gone before us,
who knows where provision is,
who stays with us in the valley,
and who doesn’t lose His sheep.

The Good Shepherd leads.

And His name is Jesus!!
The one who already went before you,

One of my favorite things about my sister @tracywilde is how she lives this out:

Strong friendships believe in each other—but they also create space to correct each other. 🤍

If you want depth, you have to welcome truth.
If you want real friendship, you have to be willing to ask yourself—
Can my friends correct me, or do I get mad at them?

Love that we get to sharpen one another with love, honesty, and grace. That’s real friendship. That’s Kingdom friendship. taken in Orange County, California by @tracywilde

Happy birthday to my mom, @conniewilde! 💛 I’ve been covered in her prayers my whole life. Her prayers have carried me through every season, and I don’t know where I’d be without them. She loved me, encouraged me, believed in me, and somewhere along the way became my best friend. She is the kindest, most loving, most generous mom on the planet. Celebrating you today and always! What if the interruption isn’t actually an interruption… but an invitation from God?

“God, are You interrupting me? And what is it for?”

Maybe the interruption is protection.

Something I’m noticing a lot of right now: we’re drowning in opinions and calling it discernment.

Scroll for five minutes and you’ll see dozens of takes, testimonies, and strong feelings all delivered with total confidence and passion. And confidence and passion are convincing. But confidence and passion aren’t the same as truth.

Good theology doesn’t ask us to abandon what we feel, it asks us to test it. To hold our experience up against something bigger than ourselves. Scripture.

Because opinions shift with the algorithm. Experience is real, but it’s not the standard. Scripture is what holds the weight.

A well-formed opinion can still be poorly formed theology.
