Every year, 1 billion garments in the UK end up in landfill. That’s 30% of the UK’s unwanted clothes.

We can change this.

If all UK adults bought half of their next wardrobe second-hand instead of new, it could prevent an estimated whopping 12.5 billion kilogrammes of carbon dioxide emissions entering the atmosphere. This is the equivalent to a plane flying around the world more than 17,000 times!

Meet Sima, one of 60 girls we’re supporting to build a life beyond waste picking on dangerous landfill sites in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Alongside our in-country charity partner Grambangla, we’re supporting girls aged 14–17 move into safer work by learning sewing and tailoring skills, opening doors to better livelihoods, developing their confidence and building brighter futures.

Meet Mohammad Qaiyum, the son of a garment worker in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and one of 180 children thriving in safe, supportive care spaces with your support.

Since 2013, our partnership with Nagorik Uddyog has helped provide the children of garment workers with education, care, nutritious meals, and regular health check ups, laying the foundation for brighter futures.

Clara Chu X Traid X LFW

For London Fashion Week, London-based designer Clara Chu (@clarachuu) paired her designs with curated looks styled by Isabelle Landicho (@lethal_izzle), sourced from Traid Walthamstow.

From reimagined everyday objects to second-hand fashion, Clara’s work challenges how we see the materials and pieces around us. A reminder that great style isn’t always about what’s new, but what we make of what’s already here.
