Want to stay in a historic fire lookout tower? It takes a lot of work, but the payoff is worth it. The mint-green cabin at Gold Butte Lookout in the Willamette National Forest is one of the most charming lookouts in Oregon with panoramic views of Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Hood and the Three Sisters.

Reservations open in late December for bookings through June, so be ready with an account at recreation.gov.

If you’re craving an epic Oregon adventure, put the Oregon Coast Trail on your radar.

The OCT follows roughly 425 miles of Oregon’s coastline and is divided into 10 sections, so you can make it as big or small of an adventure as you want. Take on a day hike, work through a section over a few trips, or go for the whole thing!

You’ll hike through forests, tide pools, beaches, and rocky headlands, with small coastal towns along the way when you need a meal or a place to stay.

Actually thinking about hiking it? The Oregon Coast Trail Foundation is the place to start. They have maps, logistics, safety tips, and everything you need to start figuring out your route. Click here visittheoregoncoast.com/activities/the-oregon-coast-trail/ or head to the link in bio.

📍Silver Falls State Park in Oregon
Everyone needs to experience autumn with waterfalls at least once in their lifetime 🍂☕️🍁

Recommendations from a local below ⬇️
Where to go 🍂
🥾 Trail of Ten Falls: about 7 miles with 10 waterfalls. Don’t want to complete the entire trail? Start at South Falls and you will see a waterfall that you can walk under immediately.
☕ South Falls Lodge & Café: warm drinks and a gift shop run by the park’s friends group
Falls Brewery: pub food for after the hike
🌧️ I would suggest going after it rains for peak waterfall flow.

Save this for you next fall adventure

Sometimes you need to drop everything to chase larches in Washington 🏔️💛
We were greeted with a fresh snowfall. The contrast of seasons colliding made it all the more beautiful. I couldn’t ask for better conditions to LARCH MARCH ✨🥾❄️

A few details below that I hope are helpful and informative ⬇️

🏔️ Lake Ingalls | 9.1 miles, 2,736 ft of gain
🗓️ Best time to go: late September to mid October, with peak gold usually in the first half of October. Snow can show up anytime this time of year, so check conditions before you go.
🚗 The lot fills up fast. I arrived at 8am and parked almost half a mile down the road. Go on a weekday if you can. There is camping available in by the trailhead.
🔖 You need a Northwest Forest Pass (recreation.gov, ranger stations, or local outdoor shops) plus a free self issued wilderness permit at the trailhead. No dogs are allowed, sorry pups!
❄️ Bring microspikes, trekking poles, and warm layers. I wore gaiters with waterproof boots to stay dry.
⚠️ The last stretch to the lake is a scramble and can be icy. Take it slow and enjoy the views
⛺ Camping is at Headlight Basin, not the lake. It’s a magical backpacking spot, but we skipped it because of freezing temps. Next time 🙌
🏔️ Views of the Enchantment range and Mount Stewart
💛 Save this for next larch season and share it with your hiking buddy.

Thank you to my friend @portmadisonroad for a great day together on the mountain.

📍@tututunlodge in Gold Beach Oregon

Waking up with a view of the Rogue River from a glass cabin is the most rejuvenating thing I’ve done all year.

Tu Tu’ Tun Lodge is an adults only retreat nestled riverside on the Oregon coast. It’s quiet, slow, and made for those who truly want to disconnect. I felt like I was in a nature documentary from the moment we arrived. So much wildlife! This area is close to some of the most scenic beaches and hikes on the entire Oregon coast.

Some of the amenities include a riverside sauna, heated pool, kayaks, paddle boards, and e-bikes. This place is stocked with everything you need to explore and unwind.

And let’s talk about the food. The dining experience was beyond classy with the most peaceful ambience. Highly recommend the salmon and smoked potato bread.

If your soul is craving a reset, this is your sign. Save this for your next Oregon getaway.

Send this to someone you want to take here. (Hosted Stay)

Autumn at Mount Rainier is something to behold 🏔️🍁🍂 Paradise is a fitting name for this place. Get there just before sunrise and you may be rewarded with an alpenglow and the bridge all to yourself for a moment.

📍 Shriner Peak Lookout Trail | Rainier National Park

The reviews had me bracing for a suffer fest, and while this one was a leg burner, the trail itself was straightforward and easy to follow. Fall colors lining the ridge made the switchbacks worth it 🍁🏔️🍂

We were greeted with friendly park rangers repairing the tower who graciously let us poke around inside. What a treat. As per usual the sunset over Mt. Rainier was immaculate.

🥾 8.6 miles
⛰️ 3,408 feet of elevation gain
