After two years of quietly building @train.rkp alongside some of the most dedicated, hardworking guys you’ll ever meet, we figured it was time to start showcasing what this team is all about.

What started as an idea has slowly grown into a community of athletes who share a deep passion for HYROX and a commitment to getting better every day. It makes me so proud to be part of because from day one, the goal was to find a group of guys who genuinely enjoy showing up and getting after it.

RKP is built around real coaching, consistent communication, and a true team environment. Through daily interaction, weekly Zoom calls, direct coach access, and a group of athletes who want to see each other succeed, we’ve created something that goes far beyond a training plan.

That creates accountability. It creates consistency. And it creates an energy that’s hard to replicate on your own.

You’re not just joining a training program.

You’re joining a team.

Track day w/ the boys from @train.rkp 🔥

400m every 2 minutes x 20 rounds.

Sessions like this just hit different when you’ve got people beside you pushing through it too. We broke into groups and gave everyone a chance to experience what it’s like to truly train as a team. Taking turns leading from the front, getting pulled along from the back, and grinding it out sandwiched in the middle.

Sometimes you set the pace. Sometimes you hang on. Sometimes the person next to you is the reason you find another gear.

THIS is what teamwork is all about. 🤝

26/27 szn ‘bout to pop off 🔥

Great weekend for @train.rkp in Boston!

PRs, top finishes, and some big-time performances across the board. 👊

Here’s how the squad stacked up:

📸 @victorgomez19

@jennifer_amick kicked things off on Thursday with a new PR of 1:21:47, finishing 6th out of 204 in the Women’s Open 50–54 AG!

This was my first time getting to watch her in action and she did not disappoint! Way to go, Jen 🔥🙌

@stfnb8 kept things rolling on Friday, also setting a new PR of 1:19:27 and finishing 8th out of 148 in the Men’s Pro 45–49 AG!

Stefan called me the day before the race and was about ready to pull the plug. Convinced him to give it a go, and the dude turns around and runs a 3:30 personal best 😂

Funny how that works. Hell yeah, Stef! ✊

Stefan was back at it on Sunday, teaming up with fellow RKP athlete Phil Astles in Men’s Pro Doubles. The boys threw down a 1:12:50, good for 6th out of 141 in the 45–49 AG!

Phil made the trip across the pond for Boston, and damn are we glad he did! 🇬🇧😂

I think he summed up his experience better than I ever could:

“I am a different athlete after that race. Something really great happened in Boston. It all clicked into place. I could feel it my entire race. Just had a huge smile. The whole thing felt so good.”

Man, that’s the kind of stuff we love to hear. When all the work you’ve been putting in finally comes together on race day.

On to London and Nashville! Let’s keep it rolling, Phil! 🤟

The dynamic duo of @killian.coleman & @parkerbryant6 put together a strong performance in Men’s Pro Doubles, finishing 5th OVERALL in 54:21!

These two studs have big ambitions of cracking into the Elite 15 Doubles someday, and this is just another step in that direction. Still plenty more in the tank with these boys 💯 💪

📸 @formdapp

SHAW THE DAWG @hasyjshaw & @_weswet owner @nick.stabile also got after it in Men’s Pro Doubles, clocking a 1:00:57 and taking 5th in the 40–44 AG!

First time these two have teamed up, and something tells me it won’t be the last! Great race, fellas! 👊

And apparently one race wasn’t enough for @killian.coleman 😂 He came back on Sunday for Men’s Open Doubles, where he and his partner threw down a 53:18, f taken in Boston, MA by @train.rkp

Not every workout is going to be your best workout. And guess what? It doesn’t need to be.

You don’t have to crush every workout to get better.

READ THAT AGAIN 👊😂

Some will be great. Some will be average. And some will flat out suck.

That’s training, folks. 💯

It’s never about any one session. It’s the entire body of work that builds fitness.

So don’t let one bad workout convince you that you’re going backwards, just like you shouldn’t let one great workout convince you that you’ve suddenly found another gear.

Zoom out. Look at the big picture. And keep stacking 🧱’s

You can’t really explain what makes @train.rkp special. You kinda have to see it.

RKP Athlete Camp | Episode 2 is LIVE 🎥

Hear from some of our athletes on what RKP means to them and get a look behind the scenes at what happens when we get this crew together.

In this episode, the entire team takes on a full-body strength class at @_weswet with one of our own, @nick.stabile, before trading the gym for some hot + cold therapy 🥶🔥

Some training. Some suffering. A lot of laughs.

Episode 2. Live now on YouTube. Link in bio!

HYROX SLC 🥈🏆

Hell of a weekend for the @train.rkp coaches.

@colinstiefer and I took 2nd overall in Pro Doubles + 1st in the 35–39 AG.

We wanted this one and ultimately came up one sled pull penalty and a few wall balls short of our guys @richryan610 and @jack.d_fitness

But damn… what a race!

Legit one of the tightest battles I’ve ever been a part of. Multiple lead changes from start to finish. They’d surge ahead on the stations, we’d come storming back on the runs… and that was basically the story of the entire race.

Being at altitude, we intentionally played the stations a little more conservatively in hopes that we could keep the running strong and just feel better overall. For the most part, I think we executed that really well.

Obviously sucks coming up just short when you want the win that bad, but that’s competition. And battling those dudes all the way to the finish was FUN. 🤝

For where Colin and I are both at in our training cycles right now, there’s a lot to be encouraged by. We’re not there yet and that’s by design. There’s still a lot of fitness to build and plenty of room to sharpen things up. Just gotta keep adding layers to the cake 🎂🔨

Next up:

I’ll be racing Pro Solo at HYROX Boston. And coach Colin will be at HYROX Tampa doing Solo Pro + Pro Doubles.

DC + Tenerife recap for the RKP squad 🔥

PRs to start the season aren’t necessarily what we’re chasing here.

Obviously we want to show up ready anytime we race, but the goal isn’t to bust the doors down from the jump. It’s to build throughout the season and be at our best when it matters most.

BUT… the work this group put in over the summer was so damn good that the majority of the squad that raced in DC still walked away with HYROX PRs.

We didn’t spend all summer doing a bunch of HYROX simulations or hammering race-specific work. We built fitness. We got stronger. We built bigger engines. We became more resilient and harder to kill.

So if the squad is already putting up performances like this now…I can’t wait to see where we’re at in a few months 👀

The weekend started Thursday with @jennifer_amick setting the tone. She and her partner @jfloydwood ran a mixed doubles PR of 1:07:15, finishing 5th in the 45–49 AG. Then TWO DAYS LATER she came back and raced Open Solo, finishing 15th in the 50–54 AG. Way to freaking go, Jen! 👏

Friday, the boys kept it rolling in Men’s Pro. @maemae_engnes has now raced three times since joining RKP, and since Chicago last year he’s gone from 1:26 → 1:21 → 1:10. That’s insane improvement, and I have a feeling more is coming for this guy 👊

@coachdex_757 ran his first Pro race in NY earlier this year and wasn’t happy with the result, so he came to RKP looking for help. Since May, our guy has gone from 1:30 → 1:18. Give this dude a little more time and experience and there’s no doubt that number keeps dropping 🔥

Brian McKinley is a stud. No doubt about it. And he FINALLY broke through that 75 minute barrier that’s been eluding him — finishing in 1:14:42 and taking a podium spot (3rd) in the 50–54 AG. Hell yeah, Brian! 🙌

We also had @jenna.green.23 (party of TWO 😂) show out at 18 weeks pregnant and throw down a 1:27. She showed up, went out there and got it done! Pretty damn badass if you ask me. Proud of you, Jenna! 💪

Then late Friday night, some of the RKP boys teamed up for the relay and WON THE WHOLE DAMN THING in 52:34. 🏆

Stop trying to win the first rep of a workout.

One of the biggest mistakes we see with interval workouts is people going out way too hot. They red-line the first couple reps, spend the rest of the workout trying to hang on, and eventually the session just falls apart.

Instead, learn how to BUILD into the workout.

Use those first few reps to settle in and find that sweet spot between effort and recovery. You should be working hard, but still controlled enough that you can recover, come back, and do it again… and again… and again.

That’s energy management.

It’s not about how hard you can go when you’re fresh. It’s about how well you can manage your effort as fatigue starts to build.

Start controlled. Find your rhythm. Then start turning the dial.

The goal should always be to finish stronger than you started.

Want to improve your HYROX race pace? Stop obsessing over top-end speed.

A lot of athletes think improving their running means hammering 400s, 200s, and short intervals. And yes, those absolutely have a place. But for most HYROX athletes, raw speed isn’t the limiter. The limiter is how much of that speed you can sustain over longer periods of time and especially under fatigue.

The goal isn’t necessarily to make your ceiling higher. It’s to bring the floor closer to the ceiling. Close the gap between what you can run for 400 meters and what you can hold for several kilometers.

And ironically, that often comes from longer reps, controlled paces, and shorter recoveries.

That’s speed endurance. That’s what translates to HYROX.

Don’t just get faster.
Get harder to slow down. 😈
