TRX + Kettlebell: two complementary tools for functional training.

TRX: Bodyweight strength training, core stability, motor control and postural alignment through suspension. The difficulty can easily be adjusted by changing the angle of the body.

Kettlebell: Adding external load to develop strength, strength endurance and mechanical tension. Progressive loading stimulates the muscles and allows tendons and joint structures to adapt to physical demands.

Two tools, one approach: building a stronger, more resilient body that can meet the demands of everyday life. by @training_with_niko

1 goal = keep the body capable

If you’re a coach working with seniors or simply want to help your parents or grandparents move more these are 4 great places to start:

1️⃣ Pick something up from the floor
A simple way to train the whole body to safely lift a load from the ground, while strengthening the legs, hips, back and upper body.

2️⃣ Assisted squat
Using a chair or support if needed.
Great for strengthening the legs, knees and ankles, while maintaining the ability to sit down and stand back up independently.

3️⃣ Horizontal push
This trains the pushing muscles of the upper body and helps maintain upper-body strength for everyday tasks.

4️⃣ Vertical pull
A simple pulling movement to strengthen the upper back, arms and trunk and maintain the strength needed for everyday pulling and reaching tasks.

The important part ➡️ You can adapt every single one.

Change the load.
Change the range of motion.
Add support.

Make it easier or harder depending on the person.

You don’t need complicated exercises to get started.

You need to train the basic movements the human body uses every day and keep practicing.
