Happy Birthday in Heaven, Dad. ❤️🕊️

Today is your birthday, and honestly, this one hurts different. It’s been a year since you left us, and I still have a hard time believing you’re really gone. A whole year without hearing your voice, seeing your face, laughing with you, or just knowing that I could pick up the phone and call you.

Losing you was already something I never thought I would have to experience, but losing you after losing Mom made it even harder. First my queen, and then my father… my heart has been through a lot. There are days I still wish I could have both of you back, even if it was just for one more conversation.

Dad, you were more than just my father. You helped raise me, you taught me about life, and you helped make me the man and father I am today. A lot of who I am comes from you. Everything you taught me, the good times, the laughs, the arguments, the memories—all of it stays with me forever.

I think about you and Mom being together again, and although it hurts not having either of you here, it gives me a little peace knowing that you’re not alone. I know you’re both somewhere watching over me, the kids, my brothers, and the whole family.

I hope you’re proud of me, Dad. I’m going to keep pushing, keep taking care of my family, keep making memories, and keep making you proud. I promise your name and everything you stood for will never be forgotten.

Who would have thought that I would lose my mother from 9/11 but not from that devastating day but from toxic air and aftermath of it. It’s been 4 years since you been gone . couple of years ago us finding out you was having terminal lung failure from 9/11. On that day in 2001 our mother went to work as a waitress at TGIFridays right across the street from the WTC .She was trapped in the restaurant from the building falling down. Trapped for hours till she got out and somehow made to a ferry that took her to Staten Island where we found her around 8pm that evening. But she went back to work the next day and for week’s cleaning that damn restaurant. Mom I wish you never went to work that day because I feel that if you didn’t go … you would still be with us.

We lost thousands thats day but we still losing more with 9/11 illness.

She was our rock but now our guardian angel

Four years ago, losing my mom pulled me away from music. Grief and depression took me to a dark place, and for a while, I didn’t know how to find my way back. I’m still carrying her love with me, and I honor her every time I create. ❤️

Many of you asked, “Where the music at?” The truth is, I needed time to heal, breathe, and rediscover myself. I’m grateful to God for giving me strength, and I’m especially grateful for my kids, who gave me a reason to keep pushing forward. 🙏🏽

Now, the break is over. I’m ready to return to the music I love with a full heart, a fresh perspective, and my mom’s memory close to me. 🎶🔥
