🍂 Looking for an easy hike in Innisfil that feels like stepping into a fall fairytale? ✨🌳

Whether you're planning an easy day trip from Toronto, looking for easy trails near Barrie, or need a scenic stop on your way to Muskoka, let me introduce you to the Thornton-Cookstown @transcanadatrail ! 🥾

This 14 km trail is perfect for a fall adventure. You can tackle it in one go by bike or explore it on foot in shorter sections.

🍁 My favourite section? The stretch between the 5th Sideroad and Thornton!

✨ 7 km round trip (3.5 km one way)
🥾 About 1–1.5 hours to walk
🚗 Start at the parking lot on the 5th Sideroad
🍂 The most magical fall colours!

And here's a little tradition of mine… I walk this trail every Thanksgiving. It's become one of my favourite ways to soak up the beauty of autumn in Ontario, and honestly, this stretch feels like something straight out of a storybook when the leaves change. ❤️

📌 SAVE this for your next fall hike and add this beautiful trail to your Ontario autumn bucket list!

📍 Québec
🚶 2,880 km walked
🛶 1,327 km kayaked
🚴 349 km tandem biked
🎿 72 km cross-country skied
❄️ 243 km snowshoed

Québec isn't one Trail. It's rivers, forests, cities, mountains and the countless communities that bring each section to life.

With six years in, it's never been just about the distance for Aidan Beckett (@walkingwithaidan). From Gatineau Park to Québec City, every kilometre reminded him that the Trans Canada Trail is shaped as much by the people he met as the landscapes he crossed.

➡️ Next stop: New Brunswick.

Aidan’s journey is one example of what it means to connect Canada through 30,000 kilometres of trail. Help keep those connections strong for the people and communities along the way. Send a letter to your MP at notjustatrail.ca.

📍 VICTORIA, WALK WITH A TRUE ADVENTURER.

In 2017, @explorermelvogel set out from Canada’s Atlantic coast. More than five years later, she reached Point Zero in Victoria, becoming one of the very few people to complete a coast-to-coast-to-coast journey across Canada on foot.

On September 26, her finish line becomes our starting point.

Join Melanie for a FUN 3 km Great Canadian Hike walk from Beacon Hill Park to the place where her extraordinary journey ended.

🗓️ September 26
⏰ 10:30 a.m.
📍 Beacon Hill Park, 13 Dallas Rd, Victoria, BC

This is not your everyday walk. Be there:

🗓️ 26 septembre

122 km. One question: Why would you do it?

We were at the @rbcgranfondo Whistler where riders shared what made them take on the distance. Their answers were personal, but that’s exactly the point.

The Great Canadian Hike isn’t built around one starting line, one activity or one “right” distance. Whether you move 2 km or 122 km, on the Trail or in your own neighbourhood, your kilometres belong in Canada’s collective total.

And now, we have just 10 DAYS LEFT!

So far, Canada has logged 62,140 of 100,000 km. What that number doesn’t show are all the kilometres still sitting in watches, phones and memories.

If you moved this month, log it on greatcanadianhike.ca

Then help move the fundraising total too: share your fundraising page or donate to a participant or team. Not registered yet? It’s free, and there’s still time to join!

Move the kilometre counter. Move the fundraising total. Let’s see what Canada can do in 10 days.

Did you know that most Canadians live within 30 minutes of the @transcanadatrail? As the world’s longest multi-use trail network, the Trail covers more than 30,000km of hiking, paddling, and biking routes across every province and territory. In September, the Great Canadian Hike is celebrating every way we get outside, and the best part is that it doesn’t have a single starting line. Mine starts before breakfast, in a kayak on the Bay of Fundy. 🌊

I wake up in the morning, hop into my kayak, and explore nearby islands while sharing the water with seals, porpoises, and countless seabirds. Sea kayaking has become one of my favourite ways to get outdoors. It’s less about going far, and more about slowing down and appreciating the incredible nature that’s so close to home. This month each adventure gets to be a part of something bigger. The goal is to reach 100,000km and $100,000 raised to help protect and maintain the Trail. No matter where you are, every kilometre walked, hiked, paddled, biked, or rolled counts towards our shared goal 🇨🇦.

Here’s how you can join me:

- ‎Register for the Great Canadian Hike
- Log your kilometres throughout September
- ‎Join or create a team with family, friends, or co-workers
- ‎Raise funds if you’re able

To get started, head over to www.greatcanadianhike.ca
