Thank you for joining us to celebrate the work of so many incredible Brooklyn artists. Saturday night was magic!

It’s been almost a year since I first dreamt up this idea and invited artists to respond to the prompt: “what makes you pause, lean in, and look a little more closely?” This was an offering to slow down and encouragement to experiment. It has been a pleasure to bring this idea to life with @leacawthorne. I’m in awe of their creativity, dedication, and care and have learned so much through the process of curating together.

I’m endlessly grateful to the @oldstonehousebklyn for giving these tiny quilts a home and supporting our vision. You can view the show until April 26, Fri-Sun (noon-4pm) or by appointment.

New workshop alert! We’re hosting a quilted needle book workshop led by @transforming_stitches on August 23rd. You’ll learn to handsew a quilted needle book to store your needles and sewing tools 🥹🪡🧵

This workshop is free to attend thanks to the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by Brooklyn Arts Council. If you RSVP and then you are unable to attend, please let us know so we can release your ticket to someone else!

Thank you for having me @beamcenter! I had a great time leading quilt class at camp ✨

Each student created their own tiny quilt as well as collaborated on a larger piece. I left inspired by so many enthusiastic, young makers!

Tomorrow, Saturday, from 1-5pm will be the *last* opportunity to see the Lean In quilts @oldstonehousebklyn! Some of the works are still for sale, so head over and enjoy.

As part of Lean In: A Small Quilt Show, we are dedicating a day to support your next project, big or small! Join us this Sunday, March 22nd, from 10 am to 1 pm @oldstonehousebklyn.

Drop into a craft demo! Learn the basics of appliqué. Kids ages 7 and up can create felt & fabric quilt-block collages. Find some new-to-you fabric on our free scrap table. Bring along craft materials you no longer need to be donated to @brooklyncreativereuse, a creative reuse center opening soon! BCR will accept all fiber-arts-related donations, as well as general arts-and-crafts-related supplies. We hope you’ll join us and other contributing Lean In artists on Sunday to learn, share materials, and connect with other makers!

This event is open to the public and FREE, so please bring friends and family. Light refreshments will be provided. Ages: 7-adult.

ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: The contemporary art gallery is on display in our Great Room, which is up 18 steps with a railing on one side. Public park bathrooms are on the South side of the building. They are on the ground floor but are not currently wheelchair accessible.
