Push + Pull Work this morning with kettlebells mixed in too. Honestly this whole fitness journey has been way more mental than physical. Some weeks I’m fully locked in, some weeks I want Dairy Queen and KFC every other day and feel like I’m faltering my progress. But I’ve realized you can’t judge yourself workout by workout or meal by meal. You have to zoom out and look at the overall average. One bad day doesn’t erase the three weeks you kept showing up. Eventually if you keep going long enough your body and mind kind of just accept it and the routine stops feeling like punishment. Then one day someone randomly says “damn you’ve really been in the gym” or “you look different” and it almost snaps you out of being so hard on yourself because half the time you don’t even realize the change is happening while you’re living in it every day. taken in MACFit360 by @travellersbazaar

Over 4,000 cups. More than 2,000 global hospitality professionals. Three days at ILTM North America. ☕️ For our second year collaborating with ILTM, Louis & Steen’s brought our specialty coffee bar to Baha Mar Convention Center, serving some of the world’s leading hospitality brands, travel advisors and minds in luxury travel. In partnership with Amazing Thailand, we also introduced traditional Thai iced tea, a rich, aromatic black tea served sweet and creamy over ice. The response? So good we’re bringing it to a Louis & Steen’s near you very soon. 🧋🇹🇭

Been having fun with core day lately. Your core helps transfer force from your legs to your upper body, so these throws put rotation, stability and coordination to work. How did I build my chest? My lower chest was growing but the top was still flat, so I made incline bench my first exercise on push days to prioritize the upper chest. I still do flat bench and gradually built up to 225 lb. Lateral raises have also been a priority for wider, rounder shoulders and that V taper, because my love handles are still very much here 😂 This is nine months of consistent effort. I have Dairy Queen some weekends, I drink, and I don’t always eat how I should, but I keep showing up. I used to hesitate to post because I’d think, here we go, someone’s going to roll their eyes again. But I’ve found that the people it resonates with do feel inspired, and sharing reminds me to keep going too. It’s become my own little journal. Whether you’re just starting or years into it, I say share your progress. Seeing how far you’ve come can give you the push to keep going. I might fail a few tests, but I’m still passing the class, and I’m aiming for the top 😂 taken in Nassau, New Providence by @travellersbazaar

From the archives of a rather curious life: Hong Kong was an architectural pilgrimage. 🇭🇰

At M+, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, I saw Zaha Hadid’s early drawings heavily inspired by Russian Suprematism (my favorite era of hers) and models by Moshe Safdie, the architect behind Marina Bay Sands. Zaha was, and still is, one of my biggest inspirations. In a field dominated by men, a woman of Iraqi heritage becoming one of design’s biggest names is no small feat. Add the Big Buddha and a Victoria Harbour view from the Regent HK, and I’m already dreaming of going back. Which stop would be first on your list?
