Such a fun day being in the shop with @cteaghin making a set of metal pipes in just intonation for @harukafujiirice to play in my upcoming opera Vox Lumina. Stay tuned….(belt sander to go sharp, sand paper the middle to go flat). Thanks for your generosity and time Stephen!!! by @tree_wong

Thank you to everyone who came out to The Unlearning at BAMPFA! I’m still buzzing from this incredibly vibrant gathering and so grateful for the amazing community around me. The spontaneous dancing during soundcheck practically sent me in tears. Deep gratitude to my musical soul sister @carla.kihlstedt for your magic, to @bampfa for this time and space to share, and to all the inspiring friends and colleagues who came to listen. “The Unlearning” is coming to the Berkeley Art Museum on Sept.12th @ 2pm. Between 2009-2011, I composed this song cycle as a reflection on Francisco Goya’s 1810 series of etchings “The Disasters of War”and their resonance with our contemporary world. I will be performing these pieces with one of my favorite conspirators, the extraordinary violinist and vocalist @carla.kihlstedt as part of programming for the exhibit “Some Particular Heaven: Ideas of Utopia in the BAMPFA Collection”, which includes several of Goya’s etchings. Deep thanks to curators Tausif Noor, Elaine Yao, and program manager Sean Carson for making this possible. Free with museum admission. Some sights and sounds from a magical weekend at the Mendocino Music Festival premiering a part of “Bodywork” with @cahill_piano and Regina Myers. This piece is an homage to the caring hands of healthcare workers, family, and friends who took care of me during a challenging time. Deep thanks to Sarah, Regina, and @mendocinomusicfestival for such a fantastic program and weekend! So much joy also with @ellenmfullman getting to see my dear cello teacher and friend Joan Jeanrenaud and partner Dan for the best fish n’ chips in town! by @tree_wong
