Trees Impact is Australia's only truly specialised grower of super-advanced and semi-mature containerised trees - all suited for use in public spaces.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Eight metres tall, 800 litres, and on the truck.

These advanced trees are heading to @birlingcommunity, the new community being developed in Western Sydney by Cameron Brae Group.

Moving a tree this size takes preparation: rootball shaved back to remove wayward roots at the edge, hessian wrapped, north point marked, then craned onto the truck by carriers who know how to handle it.
The reason it works is years of production behind it.

The trees are grown from seed at Trees Impact, regularly potted up and increasingly widely spaced as they grow, wind and weather hardened, root pruned at every stage of production, and grown without stakes, which is why they stand on their own at this height.

[Strapping in the accompanying streetscape footage is not holding the trees up. It simply serves to steady the rootball while new roots take hold, then it is taken away.]

Big trees give a site its form straight away. This is what it takes to get them there.
Closing footage: earlier plantings of similar stock on site.

Have you ever washed out a root ball?

Most inspections check what you can see standing up. Symmetry, taper, whether the tree holds itself upright without a stake.

But circling, girdling, J and kinked roots are what bring trees down decades later, and none of them show from above.

AS 2303 tells you to look.

Delivery day is the last chance anyone gets.

Crepe myrtles have something to offer in every season. Their lush foliage emerges in spring, followed by spectacular blooms throughout summer. In autumn, their leaves turn brilliant shades of red, orange and yellow, while winter reveals their beautiful, smooth bark as it naturally peels away, adding texture and interest to the landscape all year round.

We currently have stock of both red and white Crepe Myrtles available in a range of sizes from 200L to 900L.

If you are planning projects that would benefit from well-grown Crepe Myrtles, you can view our current availability here:

Why we grow trees in their own space 🌳

Swipe to see what makes Trees Impact different →

Most nurseries crowd trees together to maximize space. We don’t.

Every tree at Trees Impact is grown in its own space—widely spaced to allow:

✓ Full sun exposure on all sides = deep, balanced crowns
✓ Wind movement = strong, self-supporting stems
✓ No competition = uniform, sun-hardened foliage
✓ Natural development = no staking required

The result? Trees that stand on their own from day one in the landscape.

Tight staking and crowding might save nursery space, but it creates weak trees that need artificial support for years—or fail entirely.

We’ve spent 30+ years proving there’s a better way.

Wide spacing isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about producing trees that are structurally sound and fit for purpose in public spaces.

This is what AS 2303:2018 compliance looks like in practice.

A recent delivery to the Ingenia Communities 'Archers Run' project at Morriset, NSW - 400 litre Tuckeroos (Cupaniopsis anacardioides) from Trees Impact. Ingenia's fabulous projects deserve fabulous trees that conform to the Australian Standard above ground, but also below ground.

*FLASHBACK FRIDAY* Sydney University, main quadrangle, Autumn 2024. The clone of the iconic ‘Professor Waterhouse’ Jacaranda (left), grown by Trees Impact at the request of Sydney University, is powering away. The tree was propagated by us from cuttings taken from the original tree before it died, managed by us through to 300 litre size, then planted a few years ago in the very spot where the famous parent tree stood for nearly 100 years. The tree on the right is a Brachychiton acerifolius, also grown by us and planted at about the same size and at the same time. It also is growing strongly.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them. 🌺🌺 LEST WE FORGET 🌺 🌺 📸 credit @amygillett by @treesimpact
