Last week I traveled to San Antonio to attended the @nuca_national train the trainer course for competent person and confined space training… met some really great people in the class and learned some new things.

Even though I post every week on trench safety I myself had never been through a competent person course. I just know enough to be dangerous but you’re only as good as what you do not what you know so I’m glad I was able to attend.

With that being said I can now give the Nuca training to people. I’ve been asked before about it but I needed to take the course myself.

If you or your company is looking to have your people trained reach out I’d be happy to set something up.

It’s trench safety month and this is your reminder that it’s no joke… it’s required by law and if you’re blatantly ignoring it and putting your guys at risk you’re a piece of shit …

And if you’re in the field and you don’t think something is right say something someone’s expecting you home.

🟢🚧 Identifying site hazards (PSIF's) 🚧🟢

Trench Safety Month - - - trench collapses are the leading cause of excavation-related fatalities. Most trench collapses are PREVENTABLE

💡 Trivia follow up... hazards are all around us when dealing in construction and excavation. Here are a few of the identified hazards, from the AI image...

- Spoils pile proximity to excavation
- Traffic control, for both pedestrian & vehicle
- Missing means of access/ egress
- Incorrect Trench Box depth
- Missing spreaders
- Possible backfill issue, between shield and excavation

(Some of these hazards assume workers are actually entering the trench)

🚧 Always refer to manu Tab Data

🚧 Reference OSHA Subpart P
