This is my story …

Eight years ago I couldn’t braid my own daughter’s hair.

I’d do the school run and see other girls with these gorgeous braids and just feel a bit rubbish about it. Sometimes I’d feel guilty as her hair was beautiful and my plaits weren’t doing her justice, her hair was really long, I was terrified of nits!

So I took a braid lesson. One lesson was all it took to significantly improve my braids. I just needed to be shown what I was doing wrong.

With daily practice I was creating braids that actually lasted, instead of falling apart by lunchtime. I cracked the code of how to make my braids last 1 week! Complete game changer. Mornings felt so much easier.

I fell in love with braiding and built an entire business around helping other parents with their children’s hair.

7 years ago I launched Trenza Braid Bar and then Braid School.

So many of my parents would share with me their frustration that they could only do a ponytail. So I created a Braid Lesson called ‘beyond the ponytail’. This is what I teach to mums when they want to learn to Dutch Braid. Now we also have Braid School for Dads which is our version of Pints and Ponytails where we teach them the basics from how to tie a hairband, how to create a bump free ponytail, how to plait, how to detangle gently and how to create quick 10 minute hairstyles.

The lessons did so well, but I had clients all over the country and even internationally that wanted my services so I created my Digital lesson called ‘Learn to Braid at Home’. Which can be used by the entire family to learn to Braid. It’s now become my best seller!

I was so worried my daughter would get nits when she was at primary School I booked myself into a braid Lesson.

She refused to cut her hair even an inch so the thought of dragging a nit comb through her mass of hair gave me nightmares!

Once I learnt to Braid she never once got nits and she’s now 14.

I learnt to braid the double Dutch so they lasted an entire week saving me so much time and stress and now this is what I teach Mum’s like you.
