200 km away from shore and stuck... ⛵️🧭

Of course, it's a bit frustrating having to wait for the wind, but honestly, it's also quite magical. I have completely lost my orientation. I haven't checked a map in a few hours because there is absolutely nothing around us and we are not moving anywhere. I don't know where I am or where I am going.

It feels like I am in an entirely different reality. It's like Harry Potter in the white King's Cross station after he died going nowhere while time just stands still. ✨

200 km von der Küste entfernt und wir stecken fest... ⛵️🧭

Natürlich ist es ein wenig frustrierend, auf den Wind warten zu müssen, aber es hat auch etwas Magisches. Ich habe komplett die Orientierung verloren. Ich habe seit Stunden nicht mehr auf die Karte geschaut, weil einfach nichts um uns herum ist und wir uns ohnehin nicht vom Fleck bewegen. Ich weiß weder, wo ich bin, noch wohin ich treibe.

Es fühlt sich an wie in einer völlig anderen Realität. Wie Harry Potter im weißen Bahnhof King's Cross – man geht nirgendwohin, während die Zeit einfach stillzustehen scheint. ✨

Sudan einfach Fiebertraum

Ich weiß immer noch nicht so recht, was ich davon halten soll. Einerseits ist es beeindruckend, wie glücklich die Menschen, vor allem die Kinder, immer noch sind, obwohl sie praktisch nichts haben, und andererseits ist es einfach so herzzerreißend, diese Armut zu sehen. Frauenrechte gibt es dort praktisch nicht, und es macht einen riesigen Unterschied, wie man behandelt wird, selbst als Segler, je nachdem ob man ein Mann oder eine Frau ist. Auf jeden Fall ist es ein besonderes Erlebnis, den Sudan gesehen zu haben, einfach weil es derzeit fast unmöglich ist, dorthin zu gelangen.

I still don’t really know what to make of it. On the one hand, it’s impressive how happy the people, especially the children, still are even though they have practically nothing, and on the other hand, it’s just so heartbreaking to see this poverty. Women’s rights are virtually nonexistent there, and it makes a huge difference how you’re treated, even as a sailor, depending on whether you’re a man or a woman. In any case, it’s a special experience to have seen Sudan, simply because it’s currently almost impossible to get there by @tri.pegasus

Indien hat mich überrascht. Meistens sieht man nur die Bilder der Großstädte mit ihrem dichten Verkehr, aber die Andamanen sind so ruhig und oft fast menschenleer. Alles ist voller Palmen und weißer Strände. Besonders die Sonnenauf und untergänge tauchen die Inseln in ein wunderschönes Orange.
Aber so schön es hier auch ist, die Einreise war ein echter Kraftakt. Die Beamten waren zwar durchweg freundlich, aber eben auch daran gewohnt, nur mit Agenten zu arbeiten. So hat es 48 Stunden gedauert, bis wir endlich den Stempel im Pass hatten.
Port Blair ist chaotisch und deutlich weniger entwickelt als das Festland. Interessant ist, dass hier viel weniger gefeilscht wird als in Südostasien, vielleicht sind sie aber auch einfach nur die besseren Verhandler und wir merken es gar nicht.
Das Internet ist ein echtes Problem, da Starlink in Indien blockiert ist und die mobilen Daten extrem langsam sind, wird es schwierig mit meiner geplanten Klausur. Jetzt genießen wir erst einmal die Ruhe, bevor es über den dritten und letzten Ozean dieser Welt geht.

India surprised me. Most of the time, you only see pictures of big cities with heavy traffic, but the Andaman Islands are so peaceful and often almost deserted. Everything is full of palm trees and white beaches. The sunrises and sunsets in particular bathe the islands in a beautiful orange glow.
But as beautiful as it is here, entering the country was a real struggle. The officials were friendly through and through, but they were also used to only dealing with agents. So it took 48 hours before we finally got our passports stamped.
Port Blair is chaotic and significantly less developed than the mainland. Interestingly, there is much less haggling here than in Southeast Asia, although perhaps they are simply the better negotiators and we don't even notice it.
The internet presents a real problem, as Starlink is blocked in India and mobile data is extremely slow, it will be difficult to take my planned exam. For now, we are enjoying the peace and quiet before crossing the third and last ocean of the world. by @tri.pegasus
