On a mission to grow underground dance music culture in Wānaka, through not-for-profit events, local talent, creative community & conscious raving. 🪩✨

POSTS STORIES REELS

Our next incredible artist for Emergence II is the one and only @ollieb.nz. He has been a huge part of TRIBE from the start, and we are stoked we welcome him back on the decks.

ollie b. loves music. He’s obsessed. An avid digger with a passion for obscure tunes and sounds that make you feel funny inside. 🫠

Through daily musical exploration, ollie b. curates his sound into deep, groovy, hypnotic mixes. With a blend of jazz, funk and trippy elements his sets have a way of bringing out people’s inner groove. Rather than sticking to one era or particular genre, ollie b. connects different sounds, moods and energies into sets that feel organic, playful and original.

Ollie b.’s daily ritual of digging means he brings a mixture of the finest Deep House, Techno, UKG, Funk, Soul, TripHop, Broken Beat and just about anything that’s got a weird and interesting vibe to it.

With experience across NZ festivals, clubs, bars, doofs and private parties, ollie b. confidently drives the dance floor. He reads the room, builds moments and instinctively knows when to push or pull the energy bringing his own distinctive character to his sets. 🤌

You’re not going to want to miss this!!

Looking through all these memories from last year’s Emergence has got us so excited for this one!! Who’s coming?! 🫶🏼 by @tribe_presents

Emergence II is just around the corner, and once again, we are excited to offer a platform for one emerging artist to play. There are so many excellent artists flying under the radar and sometimes all we need as we venture into something new is a bit of trust.

And boy do we trust our emerging artist this year! Allow us to introduce…. Painter 🎨🎶💥

Hailing from the depths of Cornwall, Painter is known for his love and dedication to large-scale burnable art. And a desire to follow a new passion has led him to begin decorating time over space.

A lifelong drummer, his deep-rooted grasp of rhythm solidified a burning desire to get behind the decks.

While Painter has an innate affinity for all things bass, curiosity keeps him exploring a wide host of electronic genres, breaking them apart and finding ways to bring the freshest and most exciting sounds to the table.

You could find him blending anything from a variety of house, melodic techno, downtempo, and electronica through to UK-centric sounds like UKG, breakbeat, and 140 dubstep, along with a few unexpected twists.

We are thrilled to welcome Painter to @tribe_presents and CAN’T WAIT to hear what he’s been cooking up for us!!! 😍 by @tribe_presents

Early bird tickets for Emergence II are officially live!! 🐥

AND they are flying out the door - more than half have already been snapped up!!! We 💛 you all and are so grateful for your continued support!

If you haven’t got your ticket yet and you want to come, we encourage you to grab yours early as this will sell out, and there are limited amounts of the cheaper tickets available.

And if you’d like to get on our mailing list to get first dibs on tickets, slip into our DMs with your email address and we’ll add you to all future comms.

This is going to be a goodie!! Hibernation season is done and dusted, and we’re so excited to emerge with you. 🌱🌸💫

Huge thanks to @studio_boklet for the banging poster as always. You’re a wizard. 🌟 by @tribe_presents

Love these memories from interlude last month! What a lush time. And how good were all the artists?! Keep an eye out for their sets being released soon. 🔥

Big love and thanks to @fancast__productions for this footage 🫶🏼👏

Annnnnnnd…..

We have news! We have just locked in our next gig at @rhymexreasonbrewery for November 14th. Pop the date in your calendar for Emergence II 🌸

For those who didn’t make it to the first Emergence last year, the idea behind it is to come together to emerge from the winter slumber into spring, and into the truest versions of ourselves. With an added layer of giving one emerging artist a platform to step out into the world of sharing their art.

Last year our emerging artist was @christeady and since then his DJ career has absolutely sky rocketed!!! He’s played at @dancingplantparties, @burningman, @kiwiburn, Ignition just to name a few, and we couldn’t be more proud of him. 😍

Tickets will be released real soon 👀 Stay tuned to see who our emerging artist will be this year, plus full line-up and more info to come. We can’t wait!!! 🫶🏼 by @tribe_presents

📣 Here’s the official line up for interlude!

Our invitation to you is to arrive early, settle in, and make the most of all the goodness we have in store for you.

Every artist on this lineup has put a lot of love and care into their set, and we encourage you to show up early and give it the room it deserves.

@djaima_rissa will be kicking things off at 4:30pm with a lush downtempo set. Come early… she’s absolutely worth it!! ✨ by @tribe_presents

Our vibe invitation for interlude is cosy and lush. Think velvet, layers, and impossibly soft fluffy things. It’s cold out and being cosy and comfy is a must… but who says we can’t look absolutely fabulous in doing so?! 🎩💫 by @tribe_presents

Our final Artist and closing interlude this Saturday, we can’t wait to welcome local talent ELLEK 🙌

Wānaka-based DJ and producer ELLEK is drawn to the deeper end of electronic music, with a sound shaped by underground organic house, downtempo, and left-of-centre selections. His sets favour patience over peaks, building through rich textures and hypnotic grooves that unfold over time.

Expect rich deep detuned analogue progressions and segues into sounds that have inspired his own recent tracks. You would normally find ELLEK behind the decks in the early hours of the morning carrying the party through to sunrise.

Check out his sets and productions on Soundcloud via @ellek.music 🎧 by @tribe_presents

Next up, we are thrilled to welcome and introduce @katherinemanisah 🔥

Manisah is a Tāmaki Makaurau-based DJ shaped by years immersed in Berlin’s club scene. Known for slower, silkier tempos, she has since expanded, playing everything from deep house, italo disco to blistering techno. Whatever the space, she holds down the groove and knows how to have fun with it. Being one half of @beatboard_nz, she’s committed to growing the electronic music scene in Aotearoa, and we’re super stoked she’s making the journey down to Wānaka to bring her magic to TRIBE! 💫

Our next artist feature… RUA. 🔥

RUA is a much loved part of TRIBE and resident DJ, so you’ll probably have heard his sound before. But for those who haven’t…..

He’s known for weaving multifaceted grooves and deep basslines into soundscapes that move both body and soul. Rooted in House, Indie Dance and Downtempo yet genre-fluid, RUA’s sound is eclectic yet unmistakably his own.

Expect to be moved through a myriad of emotions with his uplifting and emotive sets, while keeping you grooving throughout.

We can’t wait to welcome him back on Saturday!

Okay here we go…

Opening the dance floor for us next Saturday is the wonderful DJai Ma. ✨

You may have caught her sets at Shipwrecked, Relish, Spiritfest, Morph, Ignition, Burning Horse, Wellfest, the weekly dances she curates for @queenstown_ecstaticdance, or even overseas.

Her sets are guided entirely by the collective energy of the moment, weaving together earthy bass, melodic house, tribal rhythms, organic textures and ambient soundscapes into something immersive, grounding and deeply connective.

She has been a part of TRIBE whānau from early on, and we’re absolutely thrilled to have her behind the decks. She’ll be easing us into the evening from 4:30pm with a lush downtempo journey, setting the tone for everything that’s to come. 🎶

Arrive early, settle in, show her some love, and give yourself the chance to experience the opening of the event.

You can find a link to her SoundCloud over at @djaima_rissa 🫶🏼 by @tribe_presents

Alright TRIBE family… time has been timing and suddenly we’re only 10 days out from interlude!!

Time to get our ducks in a row. 🦆🦆🦆

We’ll post more info about all our fabulous artists over this week, but first…

This is your official reminder to get your own ducks in a row and organise your designated driver for the night. We love how responsible you always are and how much you all look out for one another… let’s keep it that way. 🫶🏼

TRIBE is a safe space because of the personal responsibility everyone takes, and that extends to our journeys home.

Thank you for caring for your fellow humans. 👊🏼
