A sneak peek of some BTS from The French Press written by @nicklannanactor and directed by @queenrubylee

Filmmaking is never a solo mission. It takes a team of creatives trusting each other and showing up for the story.

Through TribeRu, we’re committed to building spaces where those collaborations can thrive.

I’m (Ruby) continuing to strengthen my directing muscle and look forward to directing and producing many more stories with incredible teams.

Thank you to our amazing cast and crew !

To the 26 people who gave to my campaign, thank you so much from the bottom of your heart! If you shared it, thank you so much! If you even talked to me and told me you supported me and cheered me on, thank you for that also! To my supporters that pledged, your cards won’t be charged. You’re only charged for what you pledge if we reached the campaign goal. But just know, WHEN I accept my first Oscar, I’m telling all of you thank you!!! Your contributions healed a part of me that you don’t even know about!
This is a delay, but not a denial. To be continued…..

One of the best choices I made in 2025 was surrounding myself with people who know more than me in their respective fields. I’m not sure if my DP @bryanricke really grasps that he is a cemented piece of my Tribe and is stuck with me lol ! A few others as well 👀
I look forward to continuing to surround myself with knowledgeable COLLABORATORS in 2026 !
Have you gone to triberu.com and joined the community!?

Every name here represents belief, trust, and community.

Independent films don’t get made alone.
They get made by people like this.

Thank you for pledging, sharing, and standing with us. We’re building this together.

These credits are still rolling.
Help us finish strong. Link in bio to support The Bench.

11 days left. This is the part of the journey where community becomes everything. The Bench is more than a short film — it’s a story about healing, brotherhood, and the conversations we wish we had sooner. If this project resonates with you, now is the time to stand with us. Every share, every pledge, every bit of momentum matters. Let’s finish strong, together.

We’re officially 20 days out, and every day this campaign grows into something bigger than a film. The Bench is a movement—an intimate story about Black men, grief, healing, and truth. When you pledge, you’re not just supporting a project… you’re helping bring a story to life that our community will be proud to say they stood behind from the very beginning.
If you’ve been waiting for the right moment, this is it. Let’s build something powerful together.

I’m so grateful for everyone who has already joined this journey.
We’re in the most important window of the campaign — the next 48 hours.
If you believe in this story, consider pledging. Seed&Spark won’t charge you until the end, so you can lock in your support now and you are charged once the campaign ends in 29 days.
Let’s build this film as a community. Link in bio.
