Change of plan: we have even more 😅😅

We refreshed the agenda a few days ago, and it’s already grown. Two new things just landed:

A heels workshop with Areti, Sunday 27 September. Two hours, from technique to a full choreography to Latina Foreva by Karol G.

And a monthly Cacao Ceremony and Journaling Circle with Jean: a small, quiet evening of ceremonial cacao, journaling and a sharing circle, with a new theme each month from October through January.

They join the rest of what’s ahead: workshops, trainings, retreats and shows, the things that happen once, on their own dates. Each is booked separately and sits outside your pass or membership, though many cost less if you hold one. Every listing has its own page with the full details.

Our dance courses for autumn 2026, running September to December. The next season starts in February.

A course is a whole season with the same group and the same teacher, one class a week. Ballet, K-pop, hiphop, jazz, contemporary, heels and more, from beginner to advanced. You book the full series and your place is held for the season.

~ This summer, Tribes went on a getaway to Boerderij Dichtbij in Wateringen. What began as a fun summer camp quickly took a turn for the eerie. The creeps started to crawl upon the dancers, slowly taking over. Did they end up defeating this evil, or has it fully taken control? ~

Tag someone on the Tribes team who deserves a 🖤

You see the classes. The teachers. The studios.

What you don’t see: the people answering every email, keeping the website running, cleaning the studios before you arrive, holding it all together behind the scenes.

When Willemieke was on maternity leave, they kept her other baby, Tribes, running. Without missing a beat.

Would you have kept going? 👇

Twice in 10 years, Willemieke wasn’t sure Tribes would make it.

First, the Herenstraat studio was sold, mid-season, suddenly no space. Then, just as things settled, Covid hit and everything closed.

Both times, the community is what carried us through. And both times, she came out taking bigger steps than before.

About last night ✨

Our final event at the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden unfolded around this year’s Summer Dance Intensive theme: Rite of Passage.

We began with an hour of Instant Composition — stepping into the unknown, responding to each other, making choices in the moment and letting movement emerge without knowing exactly where it would take us.

And we ended with a magical performance by the dancers of our Summer Dance Intensive, bringing everything they had explored, created and shared over the past days into the museum space.

A beautiful ending to an intense week of dancing, creating and connecting.

A night to remember. Thank you @rijksmuseumvanoudheden

Did you keep moving with us through any big life change? 🖤

This year brought Willemieke her second baby, a real, human one. 🍼

Tribes was always the first. And even a few months into motherhood, the love for it hasn’t gone anywhere. Still all the ideas. Still all the energy.
Just a little less sleep. 😅

Embodied Yoga at the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden.

My first class back after becoming a mum.

Yes, I was nervous. Wondering why I thought teaching my very first class back at a special event was a good idea… But then the doors opened, and I saw so many familiar faces and warm smiles walking in.

The 200h Modern Vinyasa Teacher Training at Tribes Academy is not about becoming a perfect teacher. It’s not about a flawless handstand or matching what you see online.

It’s about understanding movement honestly: in your body, in your students, in every class you teach or take.

You don’t need to be advanced. You need to be curious and committed.
