Hey, just getting ready for the @bhamfarmersmkt tomorrow and I wanted to let you know about a few things! This year, the market lands on Halloween 🎃💀👻 and it’s looking like we’ve got some decent weather forecast for the day too! Plus, there’s trick or treating happening and we’ll have some candy at our booth for the kiddos as well as some spicy lollipops that we collaborated on with @susscandy1 🔥🌶️ The lollipops are free with purchase of any 3 sauces or seasonings! It’s gonna be a blast - hope to see you there! @trilbysbbq #bellinghamfarmersmarket #funkyshotsaucefactory #halloween #halloweenmarket by @trilbysbbq

Making hot sauce with friends and family is the best thing ever! We’re a super small company and we wouldn’t be where we are today without the help of our friends and family! From bottling the sauce, working markets and shipping our retail orders it’s been friends and family from the beginning. My nephew, my brother, my childhood buddy, my mom and dad, my wife and biz partner, my in-laws and our kiddos (not all represented here in the pics)! Everyone has chipped in and we’re forever grateful! 🙏🏼❤️🌶️🤘🏼🦊 @trilbysbbq #familybusiness #friendsandfamily #hotsaucebusiness #smallbusinessowners #funkyshotsaucefactory by @trilbysbbq

We’re Matt and Rachel - the owners/founders of Funky’s Hot Sauce Factory (and owners of Trilby’s BBQ), based in Bellingham, WA! I (Matt) launched Funky’s in 2019 on a shoestring budget while I also worked as a handyman. Things have changed considerably since then and now…I make the sauce, run the wholesale dept, farmers markets, festivals, wholesale deliveries, fermentation dept, AR/AP, social media, endless emails, logistics coordinator and a lot of other stuff. Rachel runs our retail shipping department, all the while holding down a more than full-time job! Owning your own biz is incredibly rewarding but also, our jobs are never done! It’s something you take home at the end of the day and sometimes it’s real tough to find balance! We have gotten better at it in recent years and it certainly helps that we’re in love and that we love spending time together - right babe? ❤️🌶️🔥🦊 @trilbysbbq #funkyshotsaucefactory #husbandandwifeteam #smallbusinessowners #bellingham by @trilbysbbq
