There is no better time to hike than in the fall. The smoke has cleared, the colours are popping, and you usually get just a sprinkling of snow on the mountaintops. It is too bad the prime hiking time lasts only about a month before the leaves fall, followed by snow shortly after. Gotta get out and then enjoy it while you can. by @tristan.proctor

This is what building a world-class pump track looks like.

The @velosolutions_canada crew has been hard at work at Mt. Nelson Athletic Park, shaping, paving, and finishing every roller, berm, and transition by hand. There’s a reason Velosolutions won the RFP for this project. They’re specialists in asphalt pump tracks, with more than 800 tracks built worldwide, from community recreation spaces to international competition venues. The track will also be part of Velosolutions’ new @vorld.app, connecting our local pump track with their global network.

The Mt. Nelson Pump Track will feature two tracks from a shared start, creating opportunities for different ages, abilities and skill levels. And it won’t just be for bikes; skateboards, scooters, and inline skates can all enjoy it for years to come. Every curve is carefully shaped, every transition refined, and every section built to create a track that flows. Whether it’s someone’s first time on a pump track or they’re an experienced rider looking to progress their skills. We can already picture this place full of kids, families, and riders.

It’s incredible what you can learn from a TV series!

Everyone in BC probably knows a little bit about what goes into fighting a forest fire, but probably not much. What the wild-firefighters do to hold back massive blazes from reaching towns and save homes is truly incredible. If you want to see the effort these brave people put into what they do for us, I highly recommend finding the series Wildfire by @ck9studios on the Knowledge Network. It is absolutely worth watching. CK9 did an incredible job at capturing what goes into stopping a wildfire by @tristan.proctor

It’s not about the fish. Short documentary is now live!

It’s not about the fish. Well, it is, but it is about more: about the adventure, about giving your mind room to wonder. Getting out into the woods and finding a section of river to go through the ritual of fishing, from setting up the rod to throwing the last cast and everything in between. Something is calming about getting away from the world for a few hours, with nothing but the task at hand to focus on. The space to think and clear his head is what keeps Jeremy coming back. Whether there is a fish or not. The adventure is always worth the time. by @tristan.proctor
