Edisto Island SC 70.3 Triathlon! 🌴Wrapped up the season with a 70.3 PR of 4 hours & 22 min finishing 5th overall (open/advanced)

From a ‘Bay Creek’ current swim leading into the ocean, to fast transitions, a super-flat bike course with zero room for downhill recovery, the course demanded control & execution. Closed it out with a tactically disciplined run holding steady & consistent paces avoiding ‘the wall’ with negative splits in the final miles; a sign there’s more in the tank.⛽️ This one will go down as one of my favorite tri experiences yet!

Swim ~ 23:37 (57sec/100yd) Bike ~ 2hr 24mjn (23.4mph avg speed) Run ~ 1hr 28min (6:38 pace) — T-4th fastest bike & 2nd fastest run of the day.

Grateful for a healthy body, a great course, & the energy of everyone out there racing and spectating⚡️

Had a blast out there. If you’re looking for a fun, fast, end-of-season 70.3… Edisto should be on your list. 🏊🏼🚴🏼👟 @nvdmcoaching @quintanarootri @raw.endurance @sctriseries taken in Edisto Island, South Carolina by @triwithbruney

IRONMAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINISHER🏅⛰️ Celebrating the pinnacle and grand finale of triathlon on the global stage. Thank you, Nice, France 🇫🇷
Season Standings: 13th Overall in the USA for Men’s Age Group 30-34🇺🇸 and 62nd Globally🌎

Making it to Nice wasn’t easy, but through resilience, dedication, discipline, focus, persistence, and strength (both in and outside of the sport) the reward has been priceless. Hundreds of hours of training over the last four years all led to this moment, my 9th Ironman finish line and the best one yet. My body was tested and pushed to the very end, with personal bests on the swim (1:12), marathon run (3:22) and average bike power/wattage across 8,400 ft of elevation on the most challenging course in all of Ironman. Top 32% of the overall world championship field.

Last September, I earned my spot by finishing Ironman Maryland in 10:35. This time, I crossed the line in 11:12 (with 7,900 more feet of elevation) and was met by my family as they placed the Ironman World Championship finisher medal around my neck.

This journey has been about so much more than one race. It’s about gratitude: for the people, the experiences, the journey, and the memories. It’s about the destinations this sport leads you to, not only through travel but through the milestones you achieve. It’s about celebrating growth and wins with others along the way. Another race, another opportunity to suffer, and another chance to grow.

Thank you to my parents and family, my NVDM coaches (Parker & Natasha), the triathlon community, training partners, course volunteers, my friends, run clubs, and the Ironman organization for helping make this possible.

Triathlon translates into so much more, opening doors in life you never expected. While one chapter ends, another begins. ‘Au revoir’ 🇫🇷

Augusta 70.3 (4:24:32) 🍑🐊 Gators couldn’t stop me this time! What an honor to have been able to recover, make it back to the start line, and race. But the true highlight was getting to share the entire experience, the grand finale with athletes I’ve had the privilege of coaching. Being able to high-five them before the finish and celebrate their achievements meant more to me than anything.

Happy with my own race as well. The goal was to come away with a trophy, and we got it 🏆 Finished 4th in my age group and 24th overall. Definitely left some time out there.. a severe cramp on the run cut into my 1:19 goal, and I lost about 1:30 in T1 trying to find my bike, but that’s racing.

Grateful to be healthy, grateful to be racing, and even more grateful to experience this sport alongside the athletes I coach 🧢🐊 … up next IRONMAN California in 3 weeks

This moment captures far more than just the finish line grande finale. It represents the entire journey that led to crossing the finish at the IRONMAN World Championship (140.6) (Nice 🇫🇷) last September with the people I care about most there supporting me every step of the way🏅🏊🏼🚴🏼👟

From the Mediterranean non wetsuit swim, to 112 miles and 8,750+ feet through the Alpes Maritimes mountains, to the marathon along the historic Promenade des Anglais… this course demanded everything⛰️🌴🇫🇷🥐

What makes this moment even more meaningful is remembering where it started. In April 2021, I was simply trying to survive and finish my first triathlon. Fast forward a few years later and I’m crossing the finish line at the IRONMAN World Championship (my 5th 140.6 and 9th triathlon with 70.3’s included)

It’s about gratitude. For the people, the experiences, the journey, and the memories. It’s about the places this sport takes you, not just through travel, but through the milestones you earn along the way. It’s about growth. Shared wins. Community. And becoming someone stronger through the process.

Triathlon has translated into so much more than racing. It has opened doors, created lifelong relationships, and shaped the way I approach life itself. Making it to Nice wasn’t easy. But through years of hard work, discipline, sacrifice, and the support of others, the reward has been priceless.

That’s what this sport teaches you. It’s not entirely just fitness. It’s process. Discipline. Community. Growth. Intentionality. Learning. Sacrifice. Belief.

Grateful for the memories, the people in my corner, and the opportunity to experience moments like this. While one chapter closes, another begins.

C’était un rêve devenu réalité. Le rêve continue. Merci, Nice

Now we shift focus forward. My 2026 race season begins at IRONMAN Jacksonville next weekend. 🔒 taken in Promenade Des Anglais, Nice, Côte D'azur, France by @triwithbruney
