One week since our perfect angel (and my soulmate) Lunchbox left her earthly body. Paul said “she made us a family” and it’s true. 12 years ago, a month into our first apartment together, we got her on $1 Cat Day at the shelter. Lunchbox was a grumpy cuddle bug. Every time we had a party she would go around the room, person to person, demanding head scritches, and then she’d simply move on to the next friend when she’d had enough.

So grateful that I could kiss her little head as she gently drifted into death. And the trust that she had in me to care for her in that way. My baby forever.

The trick is LAYERING and VARYING SATURATIONS, snipping a few rubber bands and scrap yarn at different stages. I love playing with how much I dilute the dye. My only regret is not letting it sit for longer! I was rushing & it shows. Next time I’d do fewer rinses and let it marinate for longer. But I do love how it turned out!

My chaotic-yet-foolproof way to get weird organic shapes when tie dyeing! The kind folks at @ritdye sent me some gorgeous shades of their All Purpose Dye and I had this stained sweatshirt on hand. Can’t wait to show you my similarly chaotic dyeing process!

Perfectly fine shoes, yeah, but I hardly wore them! Wanted to take my @ritdye FreeFlow markers for another spin on a different material and holy moly the saturation on leather is wiiiild. Sealed with Angelus clear coat and now they’re unstoppable 🌿🍄

My spikey boy is finally finished!! I gave this Irish aran wool a liiiittle kiss of green fabric dye to boost its vibe and it’s exactly what I wanted. Your girl even got behind a sewing machine for the lining so you know I was serious about this project. Relieved, stoked, wow, please clap.

First attempt at bundle dyeing 🌼🌸 using a pre-mordanted scarf kit from @lailatextiles with some other dried flowers I had lying around. Now I kinda want to knit a top and bundle dye it???
