Years ago, I broke in a way I never had before. I lost a pregnancy, and it was one of the most confusing and lonely experiences of my life.

These paintings were born out of that dark time, and I think they are the most honest things I have ever painted. They’ve been tucked away for years, and this is the first time I’m sharing them here. It feels vulnerable to share something so personal, but I think it’s important to talk about pregnancy loss, because sadly, it’s more common than we often realize.

I wasn’t even sure if I was allowed to call it grief, even though my heart was shattered into a thousand pieces. How could I mourn a baby who never got to be born?

Today, I understand that we can, and we should. We should talk about them, acknowledge our grief, and give them a place in our families.

My grief was real. So was my husband’s, and my mother’s. This was a baby we had hoped for, a baby we loved from the very moment we knew they were there. And like so many families, we experienced a grief that is too often carried in silence.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. A time to raise awareness, create space for these stories to be shared, and remember the babies we carry in our hearts, always. 🤍

We remember these little angels who changed our lives forever, even though we never got the chance to look into their little eyes.

They were here. They were loved. And they will always be part of our story. ⭐️

Thank you so much for all the support you’ve given me during this time of sharing my watercolors and drawings here.

I can’t believe we’re already 3K!! ✨

I started this account as a way to get back into painting without waiting for that magical moment of inspiration to come. And along the way, I realized that coming to Instagram and seeing all the beautiful art shared by this lovely community of artists is also what inspires me to keep going.

Thank you for inspiring me, for all your sweet comments, your ❤️, your messages, and every time you share my work. I appreciate it more than you know!

A few days ago, I painted a little duck using the wet-on-dry technique. This time, I wanted to try wet-on-wet, a technique I don’t use very often, and honestly, I love how it turned out! It feels so much looser and more natural 💕

What do you think?
