We’ve got our FIRST 🍉!!

I feel like in your mid-30s you pick up a hobby like Mahjong or gardening… I’ve done both. 🤭😂

I’m definitely not a master gardener and wouldn’t quite declare that I have a green thumb (RIP to our jalapeño and strawberries), BUT I promised the kids when we built our garden boxes that we’d grow a watermelon.

Despite this HOT Texas summer, we actually did it!! From a tiny little watermelon to finally cutting it open tonight, the kids have loved watching it grow.

And tonight, we finally got to enjoy the fruits of our labor. Pun very much intended. 🙌🏽🌱🍉

Think you have good balance? Let’s put it to the test. 👀

To kick off @vestibularveda Balance Awareness Week, I challenged my mom to try the #BalanceChallenge, and now I’m challenging YOU.

The challenge:
Stand on one foot.
Cross your arms.
Close your eyes.
Try to hold it for 10 seconds. ⏱️

Seems simple, right? Taking away your vision makes your vestibular system work even harder to keep you balanced and oriented.

As someone who lives with a vestibular disorder, I know firsthand how much we rely on this tiny but powerful system every single day and how disorienting life can feel when it isn’t working properly.

So grab a friend, spouse, parent or coworker and put their balance to the test!
