It’s been quite a busy 2022. It’s early, but I’m sharing some pretty amazing articles I’ve been featured in this year.

I got invited to speak before the @machinistsunion Pacific Islander group about my journey in the labor movement before work tonight. Imagine having a space where the people logged in can instantly see themselves sitting in a big living room together on the floor with everyone in the family with mutual love and respect for the person next to you. Our culture can transform a labor movement with our type of solidarity, I live it every day! ✊🏾❤️

3 years of genocide. 3 years of solidarity with Palestine.

On the same day @sbworkersunited pleaded for a free Palestine, I decided that the best way to support this union still in its early years was to stand with them and Palestine. We’ve been proven right through our stance my barista sisters, brothers, & siblings.

Flashback Friday to April 2024, where Volkswagen autoworkers in Chattanooga finally overcame it all and unionized the first ever auto plant in the South. @uaw.union President Shawn Fain and I both touched down at the “Gateway of the South.” When we left, VW workers won their union.

Congratulations to Shawn Fain on your successful re-election as President of the UAW. I look forward to seeing you at the next labor fight soon!

I was invited to speak before the retirees at their monthly meeting at UAW Local 129/848 when I was asked by an officer from Local 276, who saw me speaking to the retirees, wanted to know if I can address the entire Region 8 leadership also meeting today in the hall. Of course someone who knows me recorded the speech 😂

I will never forget the impact @uaw.union has had on my life, even though I’m not a member of UAW, and I’m forever grateful for the Union’s continued commitment to the North Tx labor movement ✊🏾 taken in Grand Prairie, Texas by @tuhatafe

Three years into the genocide in Gaza, and it is ongoing. Weapons used to carry it out still pass through European ports.

As governments pour resources into war, people at home face rising prices and cuts. These struggles are connected, and dockworkers are taking a stand.

In Genoa, more than 400 people joined @calp_genova and @unionesindacaledibase to block one of the port’s main gates and help launch an international day of action and struggle. On 30 October, dockworkers in more than 40 ports will say no to turning our ports into supply lines for war, and no to policies that make ordinary people shoulder its costs.

I can’t believe our brother @yaakub_ira has been under ICE incarceration for a year now for the crime of being a journalist while documenting the resistance to an ongoing genocide in Gaza. The tide is turning and Americans are waking up to the carnage their taxes are contributing to. Yaakub did nothing but his job as a journalist to amplify the voices of the people.

Continue to talk about Yaakub. Keep his family in your prayers. Free Yaakub.

October is STRIKETOBER. It was a strikewave in 2021 that helped propel my reputation as a Unionist who traveled the country standing with workers who withheld their labor against corporate greed.

This year, on October 30th, a general strike has been called by port workers all across Europe to prevent weapons shipments to Israel during the ongoing genocide. Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to fly out for a day to join the heroes on the line! ✊🏾🔥 by @tuhatafe

The @machinistsunion’s “Workers Vs Billionaires” tour made a stop in Fort Worth for what I like to think of as ‘BBQ, FOOTBALL, and SOLIDARITY’ rally. I was honored that the IAM made the request that I emcee today’s rally to promote labor endorsed candidates running to make life better for North Tx workers. I want to thank Int’l President Bryan Bryant for investing in Texas just by showing up regularly. I see you! 💯

A special shoutout to my Pasifika Union sister Tria, sister of NFL great Troy Polamalu, who like Troy is a union member representing IAM members in aviation. We both agree that the labor movement is absolutely ready for what our culture brings to movement.
