NEW ANNOUNCE | @showmethebody w/ @evanora.unlimited // @tung_dizzy // @kilatbesihitam, Dec 13

Melbourne, Show Me The Body are heading your way. The New York trio will take over The Thornbury Theatre on December 13 for a headline show that promises to be anything but predictable.

For nearly two decades, Show Me The Body have been pushing their sound in unexpected directions, weaving together banjo, bass, drums, electronics and jazz influences to create something entirely their own. With their new album ‘ALONE TOGETHER’ in tow, they’re bringing that ever-evolving sound to Melbourne for a night at The Thornbury Theatre.

Joining Show Me The Body across the Australian run is Evanora: Unlimited, the multi-medium project of Oakland artist Orion Ohana. Blending experimental music, visual art and immersive performance, Evanora: Unlimited creates a world that extends well beyond the music itself, bringing a unique and ever-evolving artistic vision to the stage at The Thornbury Theatre on December 13.

Also joining the bill will be @tung_dizzy and @kilatbesihitam.

After eight years, Hobart’s Cyber-NoiseCore trio SMUG ANIME FACE are calling it quits.

From humble beginnings at Little Bands to four DIY releases—including their debut LP [PACHI] on Hobart’s Psychedelic Salad Records @psychsalad —SAF have spent the last eight years at the altar of amplifier worship, memorable floor shows, a literal battle of the bands, smashing a hot-pink piano, and generally being noisy bois. it’s time to pull the plug.

SMUG ANIME FACE are going out with one final, absolutely stacked show.

ALTAR BAR @altarbarhobart // Saturday November 21st. 6:30pm
$35 presale through altar bar.com.au // $45 on the door.

TONGUE DISSOLVER (naarm/melb) @tung_dizzy
DIPLOID (naarm/melb) @diploidnoise
ESP MAYHEM (naarm/melb @espmayhem
SMUG ANIME FACE (nipaluna/ Hobart) @smug_a.f._
COMPULSIVE GEOPHAGIA (nipaluna/Hobart) @compulsivegeophagia
OAF (nipaluna/Hobart) @oaf.oaf.oaf
Projections by GLASOON (Aus/Indo) @glasoon

And because apparently saying goodbye once wasn’t enough, SAF will also be releasing their first AND final limited cassette, aptly titled:

SMUG ANIME FACE//FUCK OFF AND DIE!

Come celebrate the end of an era before someone blows a fuse. taken in Altar Bar by @tung_dizzy

Al Interview + Album Feature | Tongue Dissolver
Maintaining intense energy, rejecting album conventions and that royal park rave ~•~•~•~•~~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~Tongue Dissolver make and release music the way they want and are a band that is constantly recommended to me to interview since starting this blog. Thankfully, I can now alleviate all those waiting to hear them speak as Al joins Tempo to talk about their beginnings and the making of Mountain Simulator with the promise that now the record is pressed their ready for the next challenge, which is officially launching the record here in Melb/Naarm.
