How long…has Rike @kalzfotografie been with us..?! Let’s put cake, candles and flowers on the table to honor her birthday tomorrow! 🎂🍽️💐👀 I can‘t be there for celebrations, due to the release of „BEI MIR“ and a show at @detect_classic_festival . Rike took most pictures of emmo (@emmo33033) that you‘ll see here around the record.
Since we’ve met at a shady Kreuzberg parking garage in the early days of „Kinder vom Kotti“ - thanks to Normen & @turningtablesgermany - she has shot a ton of meaningful documentary photos, record artworks, professional press pics – making memories and impact for me and the whole extended family. How many stories to tell. Thank you so much for everything. Happy new year. Lots of love! C:

Salam! Part of my recent work with @turningtablesgermany has been in support of the Afghan diasporic community…DJ workshops, recording sessions and infrastructure.

While producing podcasts and radio with the Sarkash Underground crew I’ve learned so much more about their mission, their message, their cultural and political heritage - and the struggles behind. Tashakor!

This Saturday, 1st of August, they are bringing @sarkash.festival to Berlin-Kreuzberg. Go, show up and support. Turning Tables are further supporting with workshops for the next generation of culture creators in Farsi, German and English.

The 2 hour long @refugeworldwide show with music, DJ set and interviews has been uploaded to their soundcloud after airing last Monday. Much love to the Refuge team for the work you do - both in your physical space in Berlin-Neukölln and across the digital airwaves.

Ahead of Sarkash سرکش Underground on 1 August we sat down in the studio at @refugeworldwide to dive deep into the festival. In the first half, Zolfar Hassib @jet.asti and Armeghan Taheri @worldwideweb3000 reflect and showcase artists from the festival as well as discuss how music can live and survive and thereby sustain conditions in which collective imagination and dreams can grow and refuse narratives of hopelessness.

Later, Zolfar is joined by sound artist and composer Aria Khalil @ariakhalil.official , whose work reimagines Afghan music through experimentation, archival recordings, and heavy bass. Aria speaks on his journey from broadcasting a generation of independent voices and underground rap in Herat and Kabul to his current practice in Berlin.

Making this happen 🌹 @baranrosemah 🌹

Beyond the dance floor, we’re opening up space to create together. First up in our workshop series, we invite you to explore voice and movement. Whether you want to unlock your creative expression or connect with your inner sound, this one is for you. Drop a 🎵in the comments for Resonant Bodies led by Pari Ludin! @fairyintheflesh

Resonant Bodies is a vocal activation workshop that invites participants to dive into voice, movement, & rhythm in a playful space.

Our voices are more than physical instruments; they are powerful vessels carrying emotion, creativity, expression, & connection. By combining breathing techniques, body awareness, & reflection, we engage both the physical & emotional dimensions of sound, opening up pathways to deeper personal discovery.

A note from Pari:

Surrounded by my mother, aunts & grandmother singing Afghan folk songs at dinner parties, music became my first language before I even started piano lessons at the age of four. Studying music pedagogy taught me that sound is ultimately about connection – especially with yourself. I created this workshop as a fun space to bridge body and voice so you can freely explore yours.

No prior experience required. Language: English – German & Dari translation available if needed.
