I picked up "Encounters of a Fat Bride" today from my old bookshelf while visiting my parents. 💛 I had gifted this to my mom on Mother's Day years ago, and rereading it felt like meeting an old friend.

I was around 25 once, navigating the world of arranged marriage proposals, and I've been fat for as long as I can remember. I always carried confidence, but over the years, body-shaming has a way of quietly finding its place in your heart. That's why this book felt so deeply personal.

Samah manages to tell this story with so much humor that I found myself laughing out loud, but beneath every funny moment was a truth so many women will recognize. It's relatable, honest, and incredibly empowering.

The biggest takeaway for me? Society will always have an opinion, but you don't have to let those opinions define you. No one can truly put down an aware woman—a woman who knows her worth, knows what she brings to the table, recognizes when others try to use her insecurities against her, and has the courage to stand up for herself, even if it means standing against people she once called her own.

A warm, funny, and meaningful read that stayed with me long after I turned the last page. ❤️
